Sorry this review is late but this book took me a long time to read. However, it's better late than never!

Blurb copied from Amazon as I am lazy and can't be bothered to summarize!

Set in the closing months of World War II in an American bomber squadron off the coast of Italy, Catch-22 is the story of a bombardier named Yossarian who is frantic and furious because thousands of people he has never even met keep trying to kill him.

There were some amusing quotes in here, but nothing really stands out for me. I can see how it can be classified as 'society' but the reasons for it being banned are a bit unclear to me.

I'm glad I've read it, but I don't think I'll be reading it again. 3 1/2 ⭐

The book has been banned for it's profane language. This has been seen as an excuse to ban a book with a clear anti-war theme. It was published in 1961 and was popular during the 60's antiwar campaingns. I only recently learned that there is a sequel, Closing Time with the surviving characters aging at the end of the century. Might be interesting.
