Totally a routine!
Try reading a genre that interests you or try an audio book to maybe get you out of the funk!

Thanks! It still happens when I read a book im really enjoying, but I recently started trying audiobooks, which seem to help 😊
Going out on a limb, but maybe some essential oil with a stimulating scent. For example, peppermint. I go through phases where reading puts me to sleep, but usually it is a sign that I am overall just sleep deprived and need to catch up. Good luck!

Thats a good one! Also, I love reading in bed, but sometimes my mind is like bed=sleep. So maybe try reading in a chair for a bit and move to the bed once you're a little more ready to actually get to sleep and finish off the chapter in bed.

Thanks! I do try reading on my couch during the day, and it does seem to be a little bit better, but again I think its because I'm so comfortable with my hot drink, blanket amd my dog that I close my eyes "just for 5 minutes" haha. The only place I dont seem to sleep is at either a coffee shop or at work. I will definetly try it tho!

I've been having the same problem. I think part of the problem for me is not getting enough sleep at night, so the minute I'm in a comfy chair or couch, I start to doze (even at a coffee shop). My current tactic is to go to either read at my desk in my home office, or go to the library and use one of their desks. If I'm reading in a comfortable seat and I start to feel drowsy, I get up and move to a less comfortable spot; that way, I train my brain to stop recognizing my couch as a sleeping spot.

Just wondering if this has happened to anyone and has managed to overcome it somehow... I love to read, but it makes me soooo sleepy! It's so annoying! I'm not too sure why, maybe because it relaxes me? When I first started reading when I was little I used to read in bed until I fell I sleep - maybe now my brain just thinks it's bedtime whenever I read? I have also tried having strong coffee when reading, but I still find a way to doze off... Thanks in advance!
