The Enchanted Library discussion

A game where I will start a sentence and the next person to write has to add some more and so on. It has to make sense and carry on from the the previous sentence but it can never end. So here goes:

Once upon a time...

...there were three caterpillars and an elf knight riding an owl...

...looking for the door of doom which would take them to...

...Leeringboard, the land of crawling griffins and flying dogs...

...because two of the caterpillars didn't believe that there was any creature larger than an owl and the other caterpillar and the elf knight were determined to prove them wrong...

...but what they didn't expect when they went through the door were the gruesome...

... battles between the griffins and...

.... the blood sucking wombats....

...that were 20 feet tall with eyes like...

...the light at the end of a dark tunnel that makes you turn toward it, till you realize that no, the light is hellfire and you want to turn away from it; these wombats would look at the griffins and...
