"That doesn't look good," Marcus commented as he walked up beside the girl sitting on the bench. A little dark cloud was near the top of her head and it soon began to pour. "Would you like an umbrella?" He asked with a smirk. Maybe he was being mean but a part of him also wanted to help her as well. After all, he was just mindlessly going out for a stroll when he saw her. And now, she was completely drenched. Concern was immediately clear on his face as he stared at her. "Um, shouldn't you head to your dorm to change?" He asked. "I know I would. Unless I had some sort of ability to evaporate the water out. . ."
((Um, Marcus as actually standing near the bench. XD))
"Now that is something i understand. Especially when class starts and you forgot something. Like a notebook or a pencil. I hate that," Marcus said with a huff. When the girl held her drenched hand for him to shake, he smiled a bit and bowed a little bit to reach her hand. Oh goodness. She ever was the awkward one, wasn't she? "Marcus Fox. It is very nice to meet you, Lizzy. Though I bet you wish it was under better circumstances, correct?" He chuckled.

((It's all right! :D))
"Well I'm sure it can't be all that bad. Think about it. You're probably the only student who will always be hydrated," Marcus replied, trying to fight off the urge to smirk. "What is it that makes you create a storm cloud anyway?" Ever since he stayed at Redthorn, he was always curious with others abilities on the grounds. And Lizzy was no exception.

"I bet," Marcus said, frowning along with her at the smudged drawing. "Couldn't there be someone here who could suck the water out? Scratch that, it probably wouldn't work." He rubbed the back of his neck as he added, "Maybe you should get some sort of water resistant spray. Spritz your clothes and everything you're touching."
"Psh. Nonsense," Marcus said with a scoff as he waved her off. "It would just protect everything you have." Lizzy didn't seem like the kind of girl to take anything anyone said as the truth. So maybe he should prove that there was such a spray. . . There had to be one, right? When he caught her studying him, he smirked. "Like anything you see?"
Marcus gave out a low chuckle as her face began to blush. "Hm. Perhaps I should change my whole look then, huh?" He added an emphasis by running a hand through his hair. At least she had a good head on her shoulders. That was something you saw rarely nowadays. "Joking aside, I do think there is a spray out there. I could look if you want."
"Ah. So are you admitting I look good the way I am?" Marcus asked her, a smile dancing on his lips. "I thank you if that is what you meant." He snorted when he saw her little cloud that had now turned into a cute cotton ball. "Well would you look at that. You're not raining anymore!"
"All right, all right," Marcus said, backing away a bit and holding his hands up. Okay, so maybe he had to be a bit careful with this one. After all, it never was pleasant to get on a girl's bad side. "I bet so. I wouldn't want random water splashing on my head either."
"Really?" Marcus sputtered as the water fell down his face and he had to shut his eyes for a moment. Now was the moment where he wished he had an ability that could make her storm tricks go away, but nope! He was stuck with illusioning! Real joy. When he heard her laughing, he covered his eyes with a hand and smiled. Well, at least one of them was enjoying this. "Ha ha. Real funny. Now could you please lift this?"
Knowing his face and hair had to look as though he ran a blow dryer in front of it, Marcus tried to fix his appearance as best he could. "It was quite nice, actually. Thank you. I've never experienced a shower as pleasant in my entire life," Marcus teased back.
"You're telling me," Marcus replied as he continued to try and fix his hair. "Messy hair is one of the things I can't stand, hence why I try to keep mine neat and tidy." Once he was sure he had at least made him look somewhat presentable, Marcus asked her, "Were you busy with anything? Other than your drawing, I mean."
"My, my, you are a forward little thing, aren't you?" Marcus said, clicking the roof of his mouth as he shooked his head. "Sadly, that wasn't my intention at all." Besides, he wasn't really in the mindset to ask any girl he met to go on a date. "I guess I was just curious if a girl, like yourself, would be doing else. After all, it seems like you'd be busy with other things."
"Shame, real shame," Marcus simply said, nudging her shoulder. "I guess I also though you would have a boyfriend or something. Strange, really. But I suppose you would have a certain glow if you did. . ."
((Hey! I just had an idea! If you don't want to then that's fine, but if these guys had a brother-sister relationship? Eh? Eh? XD))

"Okay, fine. So suppose you grow up to be a spinster during the rest of your life, what would be your goal in life?" Marcus asked her seriously for a moment. "Well, I guess a puppy could make you happy, and you'd probably have girlish glow but still. . ."
((Haha. Yup. What do you think? ^.^))
((Haha. Yup. What do you think? ^.^))
"Har, har," Marcus said sarcastically as he scratched his ear. "Maybe while you're at it, you could spin some gold. Now that would be an amazing ability. Lizzy stunned Marcus when she said that girls don't glow while having a boyfriend. "Sure they do. And I've lived along enough to witness it myself. While I've never experienced that kind of a girl myself, they are out there."
((Yay!!!))
((Yay!!!))
"Hm. Tempting but I'm not at that good when it comes to homework. Best score I ever got was a b minus. And you should've seen my mum. I would've thought I had won a million dollars just by the way she was acting," Marcus explained, combing his hair with a hand. He chuckled at what she said. "All right. Very funny. But I will, eventually. Just haven't found the right one yet."
"Er, no. Hence why I haven't actually said anything," Marcus told her with a grin. Truth of the matter was that he never actually liked a girl enough to ask her if she wanted to be his girlfriend. Although, he did have a few crushes in his younger years, a simple crush was a lot more complicated now. "Which one? I think there is. . . four? Five of them? Each having their own specialities." He gently ruffled her hair. "Thanks, but I don't know who the blazes you're talking about."
"Oh no," Marcus started to say, pointing at her storm cloud. "What's the matter with our little, Lizzy? Was it something I said?" He didn't want to think it could be him but what else would make her react like this? "Ooooooh, Lizzy?"
"Uh huh," Marcus said dryly for a moment, looking up at the cloud then back at Lizzy. "And that's not the reason why you're suddenly drenched, hm? Strange, very strange. It's like someone dumped a bucket over your head." He squinted his eyes and shooked his head. "Nope. I guess it may be my imagination."
Marcus cocked his head for he side as she collected her things. "Oh! Okay! You don't want any help with that? After all, I'm the dry one here while you. . . you're soaked, Lizzy."
"Oh no," Marcus started to say as he helped her with collecting her things. Walking right up to Lizzy, he asked, "What's the matter, Lizzy? One moment you were fine and the next, the rain cloud came and you weren't happy at all."
Aha! So that's what it was! Marcus would've smirked with delight at being right but refrained, figuring that him smirking would only make things worse. As she spoke, Marcus felt that he had never teased her about it in the first place. "Well, um, I'm sure you'll find some guy out there. Don't know who it will be, but I'm pretty positive that before you did, you'll glow. Hey! I could even fix you up with a trusted fellow, if you want." He winked
"Sure. Why not? Who knows?" Marcus gently nudged her. "You might just meet your guy. After all, I know plenty of guys you could meet." He ruffled her hair again. "Hey, that's what friends are for. We gotta listen to each ither's stuff. Even if it means one of us snaps at the other."
"All right," Marcus said slowly, unsure of what to do as he watched her cautiously. "Don't touch you in any sort of way even though I'm trying to be comforting. So I'm guessing you don't want to hug it out either, huh?" That may have been a little too much on his part, but how could he resist? Especially when it looked like she needed to be cared for. What with her thoughts racing through her head and showing quite the display on her face. "You know, you look like a lost puppy when you do that," he complimented as she stared at him
"Awwww. You're gonna make any guy spin if you do that. Fortunately for you, I'm not any guy so you don't have to worry about a thing," Marcus assured her before pulling Lizzy into a warm embrace. It worries him that such a tiny thing like Lizzy would have to fret over about having a boyfriend or not. So his number one quest was to try and find the perfect guy for her.
"Hey, hey, it's fine. You don't seem like the Cry-my-heart-out kind of girl but there is no shame in crying every once in a while," Marcus told her, despite the fact that she pulled aWay, he continued to hug her in a brotherly fashion. Though as to why she was crying was the most distressful lady about this. Was it that she really needed a boyfriend? Okay, this was definitely on his top priority list
"Um, you may want to watch that storm cloud;" Marcus said to her with a worried tone in this voice. As she cried, he tried to think of any comforting words she would want to hear. But what could he possibly say? He didn't care about the shirt, he could just wash it later, so he allowed Lizzy to cry. "What's the matter, Lizzy?" He asked her softly
Unfortunately, Marcus didn't hear about Ryan but it was awful to think that anyone could want to harm a girl like Lizzy. Anger bubbled through him, promising to himself that if Ryan ever came back, it wouldn't be good news at all. "I'm so sorry to hear that, Lizzy. It must have been truly frightening," he said, rubbing circles on her back in an attempt to soothe her. As the rain poured down, Marcus didn't think much about it. For his friend was in terrible need of comfort and the only thing he could do was stand and try to do just that. "I am so sorry," he said, squeezing her tighter
"I didn't," Marcus slowly agreed. "But hey, I don't really mind. That's what I am here for, to try and cheer up the down hearted." He meant this as a joke it certainly seemed like that was his purpose. "And besides, it took courage to tell a total stranger like me."
"Don't worry about it," Marcus replied to Lizzy as he waved her off. "You fair ladies need to have your moments. But you will be fine after this, right?"
"That is great to hear!" Marcus exclaimed as he stuffed his hands into his pockets. He really did wanted to help Lizzy. So maybe finding a guy for her was the answer. But considering what had happened the last time, Marcus had to talk to a guy that just wouldn't do that stuff to her. At her question, Marcus nervously rubbed the back of his neck and said, "I hate to say this, love. But I don't have a phone. Being a good boy doesn't mean you can have the same perks as everyone else."
"Oh, I'll be sure to fish out the whereabouts of your dorm by some lucky lady," Marcus assured her with a wink. "Hey. I'll definitely pop by and say hello. Who knows? I may just treat you out of a few lemon tarts." He held out his hand for her and said, "It is a pleasure to know you, Elizabeth."
Marcus gave a lazy salute as he gave a genuine smile towards Lizzy. "Want me to escort you back to your dorm? Or do you have other plans?"
“Well if the young lady insists. . .” Marcus said with a laugh. Shaking his head as he gently draped an arm over her shoulders, he said, “Right. Where are we going, Miss Elizabeth?” It was peculiar how in only a single hour he felt as though he was meeting a long lost friend. How peculiar indeed.
