I am a sucker for a book with a "blow your mind" type of plot twist. After reading this Buzzfeed article (I'll link it below!), I was inspired to find some more recommendations from you all for books with amazing plot twists. Which book would you suggest?! Any authors that always seem to write a shocking end?

And, if you did read the article, are there any books that made their list that you disagree with? I found myself shaking my head with a couple of their choices.

babs | 12 comments I loved My Sister's Bones by Nuala Ellwood as well as the one by john mars 😊

Daniel Balici (danielbalici) | 4 comments I Let You Go had one of the most mind-blowing twists I have ever experienced. I would also mention all mystery novels written by Agatha Christie, whose explanations have always rendered me awestruck.

Kay*FindMeInThePages* (kayfindmeinthepages) | 0 comments The Kind Worth Killing one of my favorites.

message 6: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) The Murder of Roger Ackroyd had me swear off 1st person narratives for 10 years!

message 7: by Erin (new)

Erin The plot twist in the book Atonement by Ian McEwan is a gut punch. Also Jodi Picoult's My Sisters Keeper.

message 8: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) The plot twist in Jodi Picoult's Leaving Time is impressive too.

I'm surprised Gone Girl didn't make the list. The twist there was amazing.

It definitely brought back the unreliable narrator in an entirely new light!

message 11: by Chelsea (new)

Chelsea Humphrey (suspensethrill) One of my favorite classics with a twist was The Murder of Roger Ackroyd. I remember reading that as a teenager and it blowing my mind.

message 12: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Taylor (georgiagirl1315) The two that came immediately to mind were: The Weight of Silence and The Stranger. I absolutely love Harlan Coben's stuff. :)

And I second The Butterfly Garden from the BuzzFeed post. That was an amazing book!!!

That book ruined me for 1st person books. I couldn't read a book in the 1st person for years!

Oh ya, the twist in My Sister's Keeper was insane! I was so angry when I watched the movie and they completely changed the story.

Joanna Elm | 16 comments The list is coming Eldon. I am working on a blog post about my favorite plot twists, and what makes them great. Two blog posts actually : one for U.S. thrillers and the other for U.K. thrillers. (Sorry, Eldon, don't have enough for a separate Canadian contingent!)

David Freas (quillracer) | 9 comments I can't think of a single Harlan Coben stand-alone I've read that didn't have more twists than a mountain road.

Evan Hunter's Criminal Conversation had a twist at the end that haunted me for a long time.

I have read a couple of Harlan Coben's earlier books and I loved them; I'll have to get back into them! I haven't read anything recent!

Jodi Picoult always has some amazing plot twists! Everything that woman writes is gold! I also loved Pretty Girls. I'll have to add The Grave Tender!
