Ellen Foster discussion

This book examines the effects of class, race, poverty, and abuse. I believe that this book strongly encourages students to examine the social world of family. What does it mean to be family? Is it who we are born with or what we make? It also asks us to look at how we can overcome our own prejudices and what divides us.
