I am in!!

In. I'm pushing this to the end of the month though and will follow directly with The Core after.

I started right on time today and I went through the first chapter and the hype is back.

The series has developed, the author has matured also in his ability to discuss the interactions and I think he has a high achievement in this first very chapter.

I think I read the first chapter as soon as I finished the last book. (view spoiler)[Couldn't resist curiosity:) (hide spoiler)]

I find Krasian story line slightly irrelevant and background info over dragged. It was same in the last book. We never needed to know sooooooooo much about both Ahmann and Inevera's background and for this book (view spoiler)[we could do with Abban and Inevera. They would be enough and sufficient POV's in Ahmann's absence. But no! The author needs to write another book, so this book will be filled with hays with a little bit of actual story line sprinted on it. I'm a minute away from starting to skim read the parts of whom I think are side characters (hide spoiler)]

What the hell did I just read? Whats wrong with Brett?

Oh boy. I so want to click but going to be good :) Is it bad enough to stop you from continuing on to The Core?

I realized one thing about this series; It is that, however the books start with unnecessary info, at the end they leave you at a point which you can't turn your back and walk away.
Until the halfway I wanted to give up the series then I was like; Ok Beste lets see what happens next and we can drop it. And I finished it, and I need more of it.

I’m somewhere in ch 4 (view spoiler)[I liked the beginning, that we deal with the outcome of that cliffhanger immediately. I had a feeling they weren’t dead. Go Arlen!! Finally someone tells Jardir about how horrible his people have been. And then we shift POV to a new character and start on her back story. I hope it doesn’t last as long as in book 3. I really want to know what’s going on with Arlen. I am prepared for a wait though since this is a long book and Brett seems to love soap opera drama. (hide spoiler)]

Somewhere in Ch 10 (view spoiler)[I'm impressed. The background for Ashia didn't take 200 pages and didn't regurgitate the story we already knew. And it went immediately back to Arlin's story line! The Krasian society is my least favorite thing about the series and I'm excited to see the Greenlanders rebelling. I'm cautiously optimistic :) I admit I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. Yeah, I have a habit of stopping at breaks, even if they are mid-chapter.
