By this point, Clary had scoped out the entire school grounds. She’d made sure that she was familiar with this place before she even got into doing her job. No matter how much she hated it, it wasn’t like she had a choice. Her father would punish her if she didn’t do what she was told, and she’d grown up learning that his punishments left marks. So she’d gone to the garden to relax, knowing she’d have to find Kannon sooner or later. He still didn’t know they were partnering up on this project, and she wasn’t exactly ecstatic about telling him.

Sighing, she walked along in her jacket and jeans, her gloved hands buried deep into her pockets. Why had she been dragged along into her father’s business? Just because he wanted to ‘avenge’ her mother? She shook her head, not wanting to think about this right now. Instead, she just sat down on a bench and kicked the rocks underneath. Clary needed some time to think about this, before a sudden ringing took place in her ear. God, forgot I had an earpiece. She thought, before Will spoke in her ear. “Sorry, was testing if it worked. You should go and find Kannon, good luck!” He told her, signing off with a bit of a laugh. She rolled her eyes, leaning her head back to look up at the sky.

Similar to Kannon, she had a camera implanted on her bracelet. Except his was a watch, but it didn’t really make a difference. That way, Will could see anything that she saw. Right now, she was just taking a bit of a break and was wising that she wasn’t in touch with anyone at this point. She was a solitary person who preferred to be alone, and having a camera and an earpiece didn’t exactly work for her. All she wanted was to be a normal girl... Not a murderer of innocent people. Why couldn’t her father accept that?

Clary blinked open her eyes, hearing someone’s voice right n front of her. She looked him over briefly, raising an eyebrow at him. “Yeah, I am. Why are you talking to me?” She asked, not exactly in the best mood to socialise at this point. Will’s voice started to ring in her ear, but she forced herself not to flinch.

“Calm down, girl! You don’t need enemies already!” He told her and she mentally rolled her eyes. “Sorry... I’m not in the best mood. Yeah I’m new, my name’s Clary.” She told him, getting up. Come on, not like it wasn’t obvious he wanted her to move. That’s pretty much why she’d been rude in the first place.

She sat down on the ground, looking up at him expectantly. All she knew was that she had to find out his abilities and put them to her memory, so she’d end up with the top three most powerful mutants here. “Your name is?” She asked, titling her head to the side. Though some of her hair decided to fall into her face, causing her to sigh in exasperation and push it out of the way. She didn’t care when it got in the way while she was dancing, but sometimes she just wanted to cut it all off.

Clary hesitantly got up and sat down next to him, looking over at him as she glanced over the book he was reading. “Tracking.” She told him, knowing she’d probably have to explain it. “I can find anyone anywhere as long as I have something they once touched.” She told him, shrugging off her previous anxiety. Substance mimicry... Hmm... She thought, knowing that Will could see and hear everything she did. This would be a pretty interesting mission.

She leaned back against the bench, looking up at him once more. “What book are you reading?” She asked out of boredom. Plus, she needed to sound like a normal kid here. Well, as close to normal as she could get. This is my job, I have to do it. There’s no choice. She thought, trying her best to push away the empathy she could feel towards them. They were all just like her... Besides the mutations. There was no reason to kill them if they weren’t harming anyone. It just wasn’t something she understood, but it wasn’t like she could defy her father and the entire Elite squad.

It was pretty chilly outside, some snow patches all around them. Though she’d been dressed for the weather, swearing two thin jackets and a long sleeved shirt underneath. Even if she was wearing skinny jeans, it didn’t mean she was freezing. Just a little chilly. That was the one point she wished she had powers like the mutants. Some kind of heat powers or something...

((It’s fine :))

Clary looked down at the book, turning it over in her hands. It didn’t really interest her that much, since she’d already read it. It had been a required read in middle school, and she hadn’t really liked it that much. “Since I was born.” She answered his question simply before handing the book back to him. Being as trained as she was, she could tell that he was forcing his kindness.

Was this guy actually a jerk? Probably, since he was acting like he was trying to suppress pushing her off of the bench himself. “How about you?” She asked, sighing boredly as she looked back up at him. Perhaps substance mimicry could be considered pretty dangerous, but not enough to be one of the most powerful ones in this school. So why was she still talking to him? She needed to move on to check out the other mutants here, and possibly meet up with her annoying partner.

Clary absolutely loathed Kannon, and his feelings were mutual. He was a complete jerk, just constantly being rude to everyone and being so ignorant and inconsiderate, he often didn’t know when something was right under his nose. “Well, it was nice meeting you, but I really should go.” She said, faking a smile before she started walking off. There were more important things she needed to be doing out here than making friends. Especially with a mutant, right? At least, that’s what her job description called for. Not that she agreed with it.

Clary stopped when his voice spoke up again, about to say something rude to him for annoying her. Though she decided against it, seeing that he was actually being nice to her now. Wow, shocker. She turned around to face him, raising an eyebrow “Maybe. I’ll see you around, Carter.” She told him, smiling before she continued walking back inside. It wouldn’t be bad to make a mutant friend, right? They were just like humans, after all. There was no reason to be so cruel to them... She sighed, running a hand through her hair. This wasn’t something people should have to deal with.
