I always loved Nancy Drew. I read almost all of them in my school library. I never owned any, though. I also like Goosebumps and Hardy Boys :P
When I was maybe 2 years old, my parents got me this fabulous collection of books called "The Bookshelf for Boys and Girls". It was a collection of 10 books, ranging from years 0 to 14 and the last book was one on child rearing (meant for adults). Each book went on from simple rhymes to fairy tales to simple tales and finally to complicated ones. The collection also has books that are related to general knowledge towards the end, which can be used for school projects. I still have this collection. My parents read to me initially, when I couldn't and when I started reading, I devoured all of them. In fact, even the last book I read when I was pregnant and then had my baby. I still have those and have given the first few books to my daughter to read and enjoy. It is a family heirloom of sorts that I hope will be handed from one generation to the other. :)
I had a collection on sweet 16 Mary Kate Olsen twins books and also meg Cabot books I enjoyed reading.

Famous Five series...I was given the 14th book in my 8th birthday, and I was addicted to it:) I remember reading those 21 books again and again those 2-3 years till I stumbled upon other genres...of course, with them came all Enid Blyton books, The Three Investigators, Nancy Drew, Hardy Boys and Roald Dahl books.
Ruchi- yeah :DAbhay- I would've loved to buddy read goosebumps but unfortunately, I don't have the book :P
When I was in preschool I loved the Sweet Pickles series, the Dr. Suess reading program, and a few other books. I would look at them all the time, have my mother read them to me and since they were mail order books, one would come each month and it was a wonderful discovery. I had the entire series and loved them. When in elementary school I loved The BFG by Roald Dahl and the pick your own adventure books. When in 5th and 6th grade I was info the Fear Street series by R.L. Stine (pre-goosebumps), Christopher Pike books, V.C. Andrews Flowers in the Attic Series.

Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer... :)My friends used to borrow Hardy Boys from the school library... I duuno why.., but I never took them...
And I remember going with the books which were suggested to me by my elder sister (we were in the same school) :D
I read The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis every summer since I was 8, up until about 21. Now I read them about every 4 or 5 years. I also read A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle. I still read this one every couple of years. I don't have the original copies, but I have replaced them at least three times.

My favourite book as a child was Matilda - my Dad had to replace it 7 times in 2 years as I re-read it that much they kept falling to pieces in my hands. I could get through that book in a few hours at the age of 7 - it came out the year I was born :)As a teenager, my favourite book became Under the Hawthorn Tree (Though Matilda is still up there as a favourite!) but I wasnt too impressed with the sequels to this one.
