Susie I technically read this in November, where it would have been in Other Books, so despite it fitting the December tag I don't want to cheat so I'm putting it here.

This is the third Haruf I have read in as many months, the second of the Plainsong trilogy, and he has offically become one of my favourite authors. His writing is unassuming and unadorned, and I LOVE it. He manages to pack so much emotion in to such a small amount of space, and after reading something that I found mediocre at best, Eventide took my breath away. I will definitely be reading EVERYTHING he wrote.

Tracy (tstan) | 1261 comments Hurray! He’s one of my favorites, too. I love those brothers, and Holt is so full of characters, it’s almost a character itself.

Ellen | 3569 comments Yay! I love this book and this author, although this one made me cry. A lot. He was such a gifted author.

Ladyslott | 1880 comments Love him, I've read all except Our Souls At Night, which is on my list for 2018

Susie Which one has been your favourite Linda?

Anita Pomerantz | 9398 comments Oh my gosh, I MUST read him soon. Everyone is raving. Which is the first book in the trilogy. I assume starting there is the right move?

Plainsong, then Eventide, Benediction And Our Souls at Night. He has two others that are set in the town, but not part of a series, per se.
Plainsong And Eventide are really the only two that should be read in order, though.
