Hurray! He’s one of my favorites, too. I love those brothers, and Holt is so full of characters, it’s almost a character itself.
Yay! I love this book and this author, although this one made me cry. A lot. He was such a gifted author.
Oh my gosh, I MUST read him soon. Everyone is raving. Which is the first book in the trilogy. I assume starting there is the right move?

Plainsong And Eventide are really the only two that should be read in order, though.

This is the third Haruf I have read in as many months, the second of the Plainsong trilogy, and he has offically become one of my favourite authors. His writing is unassuming and unadorned, and I LOVE it. He manages to pack so much emotion in to such a small amount of space, and after reading something that I found mediocre at best, Eventide took my breath away. I will definitely be reading EVERYTHING he wrote.
