A large forest filled with Grimm used for Beacon Academy Initiation.

Gretchen waited patiently on her designated little... gray spot. She wasn't quite sure what it was yet, only that it was the starting point for the entry exam. All right, she could roll with that.

Ebony tilted her head. It was difficult to keep her wings from scraping the area around her own launch pad. She didn't want them caught in the mechanisms when they went off. Unlike Gretchen, she actually researched and learned a bit about how entry exams worked.

Blanche brushed a lock of hair behind her ear, eyes gazing far ahead and overlooking the Emerald Forest. She stood quietly on her launch pad while waiting instructions; while she wasn't looking forward to befriending anyone, she couldn't help but wonder who her teammates were going to turn out to be. Not that she had talked to anyone back in the Amphitheater, she'd only stood alone listening to the headmaster talk while the other students chatted and introduced themselves. Glancing both sides, she caught sight of a girl with large, reddish brown bird wings. She was hard to miss, and Blanche couldn't help but wonder if those wings were to be an advantage in whatever they were about to do next.

Cerise stood on her own small grey spot, looking over the forest, holding herself, against a cold breeze, she saw the nice girl with the wings she talked to earlier so hopefully she could work with her but she really didn't know how exactly this would work, what she did know was if it involved the forest, then she would feel right a home

Yuki stood on her own little launchpad, with a fox sticking it's head out of her bag. She looked down at the forest. Too high up.. she thought as she stopped herself from looking down. She felt as if she were going to puke. Definatly not the ideal entry exam.. Onyx Looked down at the forest, trying to memorize the area, just in case.

The twins were placed right next to each other and were happily chatting away as they waited for the launch to start. They stood firm, but nonetheless seemed care free. However, they were not. Mavi had been explaining a game plan to Yahto, hoping to either meet up with him or Rionna. Yahto was adding his input into the plans, scanning the tree line below them for good meeting spots.

Raiden was sitting on his platform, wondering what was going to happen. He had never seen a contraption like this before, but it looked fun and interesting to him.

Jazmin waited patiently on her launchpad, unsure of what would come next. Yes she was excited, but she also felt like she was soooo underprepared for all of this. Oh well. Hopefully things would work out. Maybe she could be a partner with the one actual person she'd met already. She tugged on her gloves nervously.

Gale stood in her spot, stoically staring off into the distance, waiting for...whatever it was to start. She knew it was a test, of course. But she wasn't sure what the grey markers were for. She glanced at the ground, on second thought. . . she could hazard a guess. She took a deep breath, she had trained for this, trained for years - she could handle anything that Old Ozpin could throw at her.

Etheral Stood on his Launchpad. He looked down at the forest. Oh wow. This will be interesting. he thought.

Yuki looked at the sky. If i die I'm blaming it on you bird. she thought as a bird flew by.

((no, Rock is missing))

Lavender stood on her launchpad, excited for whatever was about to happen. She glanced to the people standing on the other grey areas, wondering who would end up being her partner.

((Ill totally blame it on the bird right away XD))

Yuki lost her balance and nearly fell. She quickly caught herself. Onyx glared at her. "Im sorry ok? Im nervous. Plus. You wouldn't of gotten hurt either way." she whispers to the fox. He put his head back into the bag and Yuki sighed. "why me?" she asked herself.

Crimson had followed the younger students as she still couldn't find someone to talk to. No one would answer her when she asked them a question. They all seemed like blacked out silhouettes. Once she had followed them to the cliff with all the grey square plates, she looked around for someone that looked like a teacher or staff.

Riona stood confidently on her platform. Weapon at the ready as she already predicted they would either be racing off this side of this cliff, or at least not being let down to the forest below lightly. She glanced over at the twins, she herself refusing to take part in there plans and just let destiny run its course. She wouldn't mind being with them though.

Ivy stood elegantly on her platform. Already being able to tell what it was through her semblance. She already had plans made to make her launch pad "malfunction" and simply find a much safer way down that wouldn't require her to be launched into the air.

Ember laughed, possibly drunk as she took another swig from the strange bottle strapped to her side. "Come on already! Lets start the fun! I'm eager to start the hunt already!" she barked loudly and annoyingly from her little corner grey spot on the very left of the group. Her taunts and yells for action starting to get rather grating while they waited to start.

The twins noticed Rionna looking over at them and smiled. Yahto gave a small wave before pointing to the forest and mouthing 'we'll see you down there'. both of their faces seemed extremely happy and excited for what was to come. They then turned back to each other and continued to discuss their plans.

Raiden was still there waiting for something to happen while looking around at the forest below him. Just like the other candidates, he figured that they would probably be launched into the forest or something of the other. All he had to do was to get done the challenge as quickly as possible.

Ebony seemed confident. She'd fly to the objective and meet eyes with the first person to make their way there. Or she could actually fly, then target the most promising candidate to meet eyes with. She wanted to snipe a good partner.

Melanie appeared and, rather charmingly, struck a prepared pose on her own launch pad. She was confident and looked good, like a true huntress already.

Gretchen anxiously looked around. Who would be her partner? She was confused!

Melanie turned to Raiden with a smile. “Sleep well?”))

Cerise looked around nervously, she didn't know exactly how this would work, however if it involved the forest down there, she would be fine, she assured her self, she has spent almost all of her time training, in forests, she knew how to move in them, she knew how to be quick, she knew how to be silent, she should be fine

Professor Ozpin appeared to the gathered students taking up a position in front of the youngsters. He looked over them in silence for a moment before casting a glance out over the forest.

"This will be your first test." he started, taking a sip of his coffee. "A challenge which will determine if you posses the skills and knowledge necessary to attend this Academy." he paused, to let the students have a moment of thought.

Riona stood at the ready. Getting into a fighting stance she held a strong solid stance and pointed her lance forward. Her eyes focused on the prize ahead. She was going to show them that she could do this. She'd face whatever challenge they had planned for her and everyone else here. Taking in a deep breath she stood, stoic and ready.

Ivy stood rather casually on her little slot. She'd make a good first impression (or just any impression to set her above the rest in her mind) and waited for Ozpin to finish. This was her first real bout against the other students here. It was going to be a rather fun little match for sure.

"Yeah! Lets get started already! I wana tear something in half!" Ember called out, not seeming to understand it was the professors time to talk. Just eager and excited to rip something's head off she stomped around on her platform, barking out more lines from her place in on the side.

Yuki looked at Ember and smiled slightly. Onyx smiled as well. "Yeah. I guess we should get serious." she whispered to the fox and pat his head, causing her to bite her hand. "Ouch.. I'm sorry i forgot. But we all know you love to be pet." she whispered as the fox sticked his tongue out at her Stubbornly. She laughed quietly at this and gave him a small strawberry, and although reluctantly, he ate the berry.

Etheral stood there quietly. A little fox popped it's head out of his bag. She looked over at Yuki and Onyx with curiousity. can she understand foxes? she thought to herself. She looked up at Etheral and yawned. He smiled at her and she went back into the bag and ate some berries.

Jazmin pulled Dayetwee off of her back in preparation, but waited for Ozpin to finish speaking before any other moves were made.

Lavender smiled devilishly, ready to face whatever came next. She enjoyed Embers shout-out, and glanced towards her.

Cerise stood loose in the corner, waiting to move if needed, she was expecting a attack so wanted to dodge it, her ears continually listening in case it was a sneak attack of some kind

Gazing up at the headmaster, Blanche shifted her weight on one foot. She had to do this, she needed it. She was quite confident about passing the test, but a small voice was questioning her abilities inside her head. She didn't dare linger on the thoughts of failure for too long, not willing to be distracted. Other first years around her looked far more enthusiastic about the challenge. Although curious just like the rest of them, she willed herself to remain composed, holding her head high.

"Your task is a rather simple one. After landing you will traverse through the forest in search for ancient Ruins." he paused looking over the students again. "Within the ruins you will find objects, Relics. which you must retrieve and bring back here."

He paused again to sip his coffee.

"The forest is filled with Grimm, so be vigilant."

"Great, when do we start?" Ebony asked, thinking she could probably was getting there first, regardless of when things started.

Melanie knelt, preparing her for launch.

Gretchen thought they'd actually be running.

Cerise smiled at this, getting ready to run, she can move quickly and knew how forests worked, she would find those ruins quickly, should be paths to follow, no matter how old as both Grim and forest animals would of kept it open, easier to move through and the ruins should be in a clearing, a easy thing to find

The twins smiled at each other, placing their feet in a firm position on the platform. they motioned to each other with their hands, communicating efficiently as Ozpin was explaining the rules. Mavi, using Ozpin's words, was effortlessly changing the plan to become more efficient and with a smaller failure rate.

Raiden had also planted his feet firmly on the ground, thinking that they were going to start off running. He was quite a fast runner so he assumed there would be no trouble for him at all. He kept an eye on the forest as Ozpin was talking.

"And also:" started Ozpin, a small smirk forming on his face. "The matter of team assignments." he paused again. "Upon landing, the first person that would encounter in the forest will be your partner for the rest of your time at this Academy."

Ozpin made a small motion with his free hand, there was a rather loud clicking sound, from somewhere beneath the students feet. Not even a second later, the students were unceremoniously launched into the air, at differing altitudes.

Yuki looked down and immediately started to panic. "Onyx do something wont you?" she cried. The little fox just growled at her. "Your useless." she said as she got near a big tree. She looked at the tree and looked around for the best landing. She soon landed on a branch. "Now that that is over with. We should avoid meeting with grim. Maybe stay in the trees until we see someone." she says putting a pair of gloves on.

Etheral made a quick landing on the ground and looked around the forest, analyzing where he was. His fox hopped out of his bag and walked besides him. "Be alert Aria." he ordered the fox. She began to look around, ready to attack something.

Riona was launched into air with great speed. A bit surprising for her to say the least, but she wasn't unprepared for this. Pointing her lance forward she called upon her semblance. The lance shining a bright orange color, sparks flying from it almost as she triggered the lance. The formally falling Riona was now practically flying forward like a rocket over the tree line and as far ahead as she could get.

Ivy smiled, her semblance keeping the spring from ever going off in the first place. She watched the other students fly off as she stayed behind. She stepped off the platform and turned to Ozpin. "Wow, nice job Ozpin, I don't think anybody was ready for that," she said, winking at the headmaster before simply jumping off the cliff to catch up to the other students. A sly smile on her face as she hit the forest floor. She had been keeping watch on a few of the stronger people in class and ran off in the direction they had flown off, intending to catch the best students for herself.

Ember was laughing like a maniac as she was tossed into the forest. "Finally!" she screamed loudly as she was shot off into the wilderness. Fire seeming to already start before she touched the ground.

The twins were quickly launched into the air, looking at each other and smiling. Yahto, noticing that Riona was already in the air, waved to her before she took off. Unlike her unusual way of landing, the twins had no way to fly through the air and were instead falling to the ground. With a salute to his brother, Mavi took out his bow and shot an arrow towards a far away tree, allowing himself to grab hold of a rope attached and project towards that tree. Yahto nodded and safely landed in a tree.

Raiden was surprised at the sudden launch, but still managed to land safely in the trees. Climbing to the top of the tallest one, he looked around the forest before starting to make his way through the tree branches. "Now all i need to do is find a team mate..." he muttered to himself.

Lavender was not expecting being launched off of a cliff, but once she felt the wind, she burst into an excited laughter. With no way to really stop herself from falling, she did her best to aim on/near a group of trees. Having successfully landed (though with quite a bit of impact), she climbed down the tree and brushed her hair out of her face. Time for a partner. She grinned.

Jazmin held tight to her weapon as she went flying. Thinking quickly, she opened the case and pulled out a grappling hook type thing, which she used to hook, then swing from, a tree.

Katzu walked around with the fox eventually spotting a girl. He walked up to Lavender. "Hello Ms." he said smiling.

Yuki spotted Jazmin as she swung from the tree. She was too shy to say anything until Onyx bit her hand really hard. "OW! IM GOING TO KILL YOU ONYX!" she screamed at the fox, whom jumped to the tree Jazmin had swung from. He barked for the first time (since being introduced to the roleplay).

((Fun Fact: Foxes bark like dogs, except higher pitch. It sounds like they are screaming at you and its freaking scary when you encounter one that just decided it wanted to scream at someone.))

Lavender turned around. "Hello there!" she said, brushing off her jacket. "So does this make us partners?"

Jazmin jumped, at first believing the bark could've been a grimm, but she sighed a breath of relief once she turned around to see Onyx. "Where's Yuki at?" she asked him (her?).

Blanche felt herself being propelled forward, her feet lifting off the launch pad. Looking left and right, she saw the others going through the same thing, some already balancing themselves high up using their own techniques. Smiling faintly, she stared ahead as she zoomed through the air. Taking a deep breath, she opened her arms wide and fluttered her wings in an attempt to gain control of her own balance. Unlike bird Faunus'', Blanche was unable to fly as fast as the others with wings - which was why she had backup. Pulling out her weapon, she channeled white dust and pulled the trigger with ease, drawing a glowing semi circle around herself as a whirlwind picked her up. Soon enough, she was catching up with the rest of them. Having the choice to lower herself to the ground or continue darting through the clouds, the girl chose the latter, keeping her eyes on her surroundings.

Cerise smiled as she flew through the air, her read hair going behind her, and started to try and aim herself in a cluster of trees, from there she could stay hidden and move quickly to find the ruins, she really hoped she met a nice partner, but she would have to wait and see, she wouldn't go out of her way to find one, despite how lonely she felt

Onyx looked at the tree Yuki was in and Barked. Yuki waved at Jazmin shyly. "H-hello.." she stuttered.

Katzu looked at Lavender. "I guess so. Im Katzu. And this is Aria" he says introducing himself and the fox smiling. The fox barked quietly.

Cerise quickly got her weapon up and used a hook on it to spin her around and land her on a branch, she quickly looked around, and started to climb higher, trying to see if she could see a clearing anywhere near her location, her feet moved with practised ease as she switched her weapon back to a bow and she easily climbed higher

((Alright looks like everyone is started! I think it is time to start dividing into team threads! So Please inform the mods of which characters/teams are put together, and we'll make you individual threads, to make things a wee bit chaotic!))

(( Jazmin Udonis and Yukino Kagame are team mates, And Etheral Hinamori and Lavender Py are team mates. They might as well just be in the same thread seeing as they are all played by Me and Penelope.))

Jazmin smiled. "Hi!" she called with a wave. "So teammates, yeah?" she asked, glad she was with someone that she at least had talked with previously. Jazmin had been worried that she would end up with someone entirely incompatible.

"Katzu and Aria, huh? I'm Lavender. Pleased to make your acquaintance." She reached down as if she were going to pet the fox, but hesitated and retracted her hand. "Pets and I don't normally get along... I hope that won't be a problem."
