I'd like to recommend a book that came out in January 2017. It's Behind Her Eyes by Sarah Pinborough. It was also a finalist in this year's Goodreads Choice Awards. The Guardian (UK) called it "Pinborough’s twisty psychological thriller culminates with a plot twist worthy of the publisher’s #WTFthatending hashtag"

I read this some time ago and really liked it, but I never got back to the sequel. I could read it again....
