2018 TCPL Reading Challenge! discussion

I’ve just set my goal. 100 books including audio editions. Starting with finishing The River Bank by Kim Johnson and Her Body and Other Parties by Carmen Maria Machado. Both are very good so far.

Just finished first book of 2018! “The River Bank” by Kij Johnson. Fun and whimsical “sequel” to “The Wind and the Willows” for adults but easily good for kids too.

I just set my goal at 70. That was my goal last year, but I made it to 65. I am starting off the year with 'Ginny Moon" by Benjamin Ludwig and am listening to 'The Remains of the Day' in my car. Happy Reading everyone.

I doubt I’ll make it but am aiming high this year.

I just finished Arsenic and Austen. I am aiming for at least 100 this year. I always include audio books and graphic novels/comics but try to keep the graphics and comics to a minimum. I am currently reading Assault and Pepper. I'm on a cozy mystery jag. LOL

It is fun especially when I find one that I can't solve right away. They are also light reading and I might be able to get ahead of schedule so I can take longer on other books.

The last one I read was “Purebred Dead”, a Cocker Spaniel cozy series by Kathleen Delaney. It was fun, light and a quick read.

I think my goal for the year may turn out different than it is. I started small but decided on 49, because i turn 49 in March. I have read 14 books already. so, 49 by my birthday!?!

I've finished book 5 of the year. Off to a good start and listening to audio books in the car is really helping and a great way to make my commute go by nice and quick. Here is my review :
The Witches of New York by Ami McKay The Witches of New York by Ami McKay (Goodreads Author)

I really enjoyed this tale of witches in NYC in the late 1800's. Though it had a slow start for me, once I was half way through I really could not wait to find out the fate of these three women. Religious zealots, strong women, feminist tones- this book had it all. If you love women's history, witchcraft and a good story, I highly recommend this book. And a bonus, it is beautifully done.

You guys have high goals! My goal is usually 25, and I generally hit or exceed it by a few. I take my time reading, and I intersperse audiobooks with lots of podcasts. I am definitely a person who takes advantage of "auto-renewal." So far, I'm 2.5 books into 2018!

I binge on audiobooks.
