Jon Nice choice, I read this as a teenager and look forward to reading it again.

Not read it but really making a determined effort to read the classics. My school didn’t seem to push reading so that’s sad and growing up as books a luxury only got hold of them by chance. Think that’s why I have a wide range of reading tastes as I took what I could get hold off.

Tracy Quarrell | 261 comments I reread this book every few years and I loved it when I was a teen. Back then you needed a bit of luck with schools and teachers, hopefully a bit more equal now.

Going to try and get back to reading this month. So far behind at the moment.

Dianne (deemitchell) | 349 comments One of my favourite books. I love hardy generally, the master of the wrong road taken, in his novels.

Sophie Hughes (safuya) | 67 comments I just finished this. It's a great book, but it's very depressing — a very damning view of Victorian England.

Loved the story but hated the ending.
