Not read it but really making a determined effort to read the classics. My school didn’t seem to push reading so that’s sad and growing up as books a luxury only got hold of them by chance. Think that’s why I have a wide range of reading tastes as I took what I could get hold off.
I reread this book every few years and I loved it when I was a teen. Back then you needed a bit of luck with schools and teachers, hopefully a bit more equal now.
One of my favourite books. I love hardy generally, the master of the wrong road taken, in his novels.
I just finished this. It's a great book, but it's very depressing — a very damning view of Victorian England.
