Good Grief

Muse A has been an aspiring musician for years. They have finally hit it big; their music quickly climbing the charts, labels scrambling to sign them, screaming fans waiting outside venues. Muse A meets Muse B at an industry event, and the two hit it off immediately. Muse A invites Muse B out after the event, and they end up going home together afterward. As they continue to bump into one another at industry events over the next few weeks, the pair decides to act on their chemistry and try dating. It isn’t long before they start to fall for each other, but Muse A’s rising fame sweeps them up, leaving Muse B behind while Muse A travels the world. Muse B does their best to deal with the distance and the insecurities that come along with dating a musician but, they finally reach their limit when a photo surfaces of Muse A kissing a fan after a show. Muse Aexpresses regret about the incident, but can’t promise that they’ll be 100% faithful while on tour. After a difficult talk, the two agree that they shouldn’t be together right now, and they’ll just have to see what happens when the tour is over. But when it’s time for Muse A to write their sophomore album, nothing is more inspiring than their relationship with Muse B. Their first single is released and it’s a break-up song that’s all about missing Muse B.

Optional: Muse B is a radio host and their listeners keep calling and requesting the song.

Personality: Is very kind to the people he works with and is always very cheerful on what he is doing at the moment. He always tries to make everyone feel good about themselves and will help anyone who needs it. Doesn't get mad at anyone really unless they really treat him like he is nothing.

Personality: Is a bit shy, that's why she works in radio. She doesn't like attention on her. She's kind to everyone, and she's a lot like a mom to some people. When she gets angry, you better watch out or else you just might get burned.

I thought that I was going to muse B. Its alright though if you want to play muse B.

Altair walked into the event actually early for a singer since most of the others would come over late to be fashionable but he didn't believe in that since he viewed everyones time as precious. He had started to climb up in the charts slowly as a solo act in the pop scene. He went by the name Venom and most people had not laid eyes on him since he doesn't have any concerts and has no music videos with him in it. Altair walked over to a table where he got his name tag so people would be able to recognize who he was. He looked around seeing if he could find anyone he knew there or if he could maybe strike up a conversation with someone.

Scarlet was one of the first ones to show up at the event. She hadn't wanted to come to the event however being the radio show host that she was she had to come to these events and talk to some celebrities. She talked a little bit between the music she played on her show. She looked around the place and was deciding who to talk to first. She saw an actor, an actress, and a new singer. She decided that she would talk to the new singer first. She walked over to him and smiled at him. "Hi." She said as she pushed the hair from her face. "So... you are the new singer right? Uh... Altair? Right? That's an interesting name. What does it mean?" she asked him getting right into the questions. That was what she did, she liked asking questions and research.

Altair stood still in his position and still looked around but had not noticed that a young woman had walked over to him and started to ask him questions. He smiled instantly and says “Hi there!” He was always preppy so when someone talked to him he would respond with all the positive energy that he had in his body. “Yes I am Altair. And what does my name mean. Well my name was given to me by my mother who was an astrologist so she decided that a star name would work for her first child’s name. My brother and sister are actually called Deneb and Vega which are stars that related to my star name.” He then rubs the back of his head because he gave her a good amount of information. “What’s your name? I don’t think I’ve seen you before.”

Scar smiled and grinned. "That's awesome. I wish my name meant something like that." She said with a small smile. "Oh, sorry. How rude of me. I'm Scarlet Lane. I'm the host of 99.7 The Way of the Lane," She told him. "I don't get recognized a lot since not many people know what I look like. They just know my voice. But I've heard before that it's hard to determine my voice from the show when they meet me." She told him with a small shrug. "I guess they think that I would look different than this."

Altair chuckles lightly to himself and shakes his head. “If I had heard your voice before hand then I would most likely have been able to recognize you. Your voice is very nice and flows like water.” He said still laughing. He cools himself off after a good while and says “Sadly I do not listen to radio often and when I do I usually don’t try and listen intently to it. And your name is very nice as well. Scarlet Lane.” He looks around and then down to her again, “Well between me and you, a lot of people don’t recognize who I am in the industry since I don’t show my face often.”

Scar blushes slightly and then smiles at Altair. "Well thank you. And I urge you to listen my show. I actually played a song of yours just today. I really like your music." She told him with a small, shy smile. "I recognized you right away. Though that might be because I'm supposed to know who all the big people are. And I have a feeling that you will be a huge hit." She told him and then saw someone waving to Altair. She chuckled. "See? Someone else recognized you." She pointed to the other person. "Maybe I'll see you around, Altair."

Altair stopped smiling when he heard her say that she recognized him immediately and that she had a feeling that he was going to make it big. A small bit of blush started to burn on his cheeks and he slowly smiles again, “Wow... uh thanks there Scarlet. Well I sure hope I don’t disappoint you at all then. And thanks for playing my music on the radio.” He was taken back by that but for sure knew that he would like to get to know this girl in front of him. He looks back to the person who was waving at him and decided to wave back. Quickly though he looks back to Scarlet and says “Well maybe we can hang out later after this event is over. You seem really chill and I would like to get to know you better.”

Scarlet blushed as she smiled and nodded to Altair. And then she remembered that she had to go to the studio. She was going on air at 10. Her smile faltered. "I would love to. But I have to go on air at 10." She said giving him a small, sad shrug. "But maybe I'll you around. I'll definitely be hearing your songs. If you want to, you can listen to my station." She grinned and then walked away with a shy wave to him. She bit her lip as she turned back around as she headed back to the bar and ordered herself a club soda. She sipped that as she talked with other people. And then at 9:30 she left the event and headed to her studio. She waved to the security man; Kyle as she passed him.
Once she was in her studio and had on her headphones and she was on air she felt perfect. She loved going on air and hearing from her listeners as well as hearing the songs. "Hiya folks, this is Scarlet Lane coming at your from The Way of the Lane. I hope everyone is having a great night so far. I had a great night tonight. I was at an event and I got to meet with a few celebrities that some of you might recognize like; Rihanna, Nick Jonas, Selena Gomez, and a new artist that many of you might not know, Altair Greenham. Okay, so if you haven't hear of Altair, I encourage everyone to look up his songs. But for now here is a song of his. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do." With that she played one of her favorite songs of his.

Altair felt a little saddened that she was actually gonna have to leave for work but decides to let her go so she can do what she needs to do here. He decided to go and talk to some people as well and start to get noticed by the talent and their agents. He was laughing and having a good time with them all and he was more just trying to make good friends rather than trying to make connections into the music business. He got his guitar and played a little song for those who wanted to hear them and everyone was impressed with him and what he was able to do. As the event started to wind down he decided to go to his car and relax for a bit in there.
Altair then remembers that this would be the time that she would be on the radio so he decided to flip around the stations looking fo the right one or if he could at least hear himself on the radio. He finally makes it to a station that was playing his song and he was in shock still thinking that even though he had recently just started that people were starting to like his music. He needed to thank this girl and also just hang out with her.

Scarlet sang along to the song as it played. She also danced a little bit in her chair. She could see her producer, and a good friend of hers, Kim Lynne shaking her head with a smile. Once the song finished she turned the microphone back on. "That was Altair Greenham. I hoped you enjoyed that song as much as I did. Now, I gotta admit, I was singing along and even dancing in my chair. My producer was laughing at me, but hey, I enjoy the music I listen to." She said with a smile. "Alright, so now is the time when I open up the phone lines to you listeners and you can request a song, and even make a dedication out to the one you love or hate or the one who just won't get a clue. Our first requested song will be coming up soon, call in at 100-211-1021. I'll be waiting for your calls. Oh, by the way make sure you add the 1 at the end. But if you don't it's fine you just have to tell them you're wanting to speak with Scarlet Lane and they'll redirect your call. Here's another one of my favorite songs, it's a bit of an oldie." With that she put on Paradise City by Guns N Roses.

Altair listened along to the song and he was glad that it was this one she was playing because he really put a good amount of time and effort into making that song and it was his personal favorite. When he had heard that she was rocking along to his song he just laughed and smiled at the thought of seeing this beautiful girl dancing in her little chair and probably making a fool out of herself. He was also taken back that she would say something like that about him but he guessed that she knew him more than he did her. He then got an idea to ask her out right then and there when she mentioned to call and request a song. He pulled out his cell phone and then dialed the number making sure to add the 1 into it and when the line picked up he says “Hello there, my name is Altair Greenham and I would like to request Interstate Love Song by Stone Temple Pilots and I’d also like to dedicate it to you Scarlet and I was hoping that I might be able to take you out for coffee sometime.”

As Paradise City was playing Scarlet sang along to the song again and when the phone rang she answered immediately. "Hello, you've reach Scarlet." She said with a grin into the phone. When she heard who it was her eyes went wide and then as he requested a song dedicated it her mouth fell open. She had never had a song dedicated to her. She blushed slight. "Uhm... yeah. Coffee would be great. When do you want to... to go get coffee?" she asked him and she could her producer frowning and holding up her hands asking her what was going on. She mouthed oh my god to Kim. Kim shook her head and mouthed what back. 'I just got asked out by Altair Greenham.' Kim's eyes got wide and she begun to dance.

Altair just sat in his car still listening to what she had to say and when she started to get flustered he just chuckled lightly so she wouldn't hear him. He thought it was cute that she was getting a bit nervous with him even though he felt as if he wasn't that big in the rock industry. He could even feel the blush that she had on her face because the way she talked now reminded him of how she talked earlier. "Yeah let me give you my number right now..." He says and gives her his number, "just text me and I'll give you the details then. Can't wait to see you then by the way." He finally hangs up and was happy she actually wanted to go out with him.

The day of Scarlet's date with Altair had arrived. She had gone out shopping for a new dress to wear on the date and even broke out her best high heels. She couldn't believe that a celebrity had wanted to go out on a date with little old her. She was nobody. Sure, at times people would hear her voice and be like wait a minute. But then they didn't care enough to find out for sure. She was finishing up her makeup when she heard her doorbell. She checked herself one more time in the mirror before heading to her front door. She opened the door and smiled. "Hi."

Altair had decided that day to go dressed with his black jeans on, nicely pressed and folded on the hem, and a beige button up dress shirt which was covered by his tan leather jacket and, to top the whole outfit off, he had on his brown loafers that were more like boots. He made off to his car which was car from the movie he adored so much, 007. He drove quickly to her address and parked the car and began to walk up to her door to finally ring the door bell to see her quickly come and open the door. He thought she looked stunning from what he saw before him and started to blush as he speechlessly says "Um... well I uh... well I brought you uh... Um this is awkward, can we pretend this didn't happen and I can start all over." He then faces away from her try to get himself to calm down and get himself to stop blushing. He looks back to her still blushing and says "Hey there Scarlet I'm here to take you out for coffee. So are you ready to go."

Scarlet smiled as he seemed to be nervous. She wasnt sure why he was nervous. He was Altair and she was... Scarlet Lane, radio show host. She laughed and nodded. "Sure." She said and then stepped back in her apartment and made it look like she had just openes her door. "Hi." She smiled and nodded. "I am." She said and walked out her door. She locked her door and shut it before following him outside. She gasped as she aaw his car. "No way! Is that an Aston Martin? Like the car from James Bond?" she asked him. "Oh my God!" She then realized she was totally geeking out on him. "Sorry." She said with a blush. She was really into 007 films. She had the entire collection from Sean Connery to the new Daniel Craig in her apartment.

He chuckles lightly at the way she was reacting to the car since he really liked it as well since not only was it just a great looking car but it was iconic. “Yeah it’s an Aston Martin. I bought this one as soon as I could because I’m such a huge fan of 007 and his weird and awesome adventures he has. The only sad part about mine bough is that it does not have the capability to blow up a tank.” He walks her over to the passenger side and opens the door for. “But I think that the eject seats work just fine.” He says jokingly to her. He was happy she could nerd out about this with him since he doesn’t really know anyone who really likes 007 as much as he did. He soon got in his seat and started to engine letting it rev up so he can now get on the road.

Scarlet laughed. "Ah man. That's a deal breaker, Altair. Not being able to take out a tank?" She shook her head and laughed a little as she got in the car. "So, I shpuld be careful not to upset you. I wouldn't want to be ejected." She loved that Altair was a Bond fan. Most of her friends didn't understand her obsession with James Bond. They liked it, but mostly just for Daniel Craig who they thought was hot as hell. She heard the engine come to life and grinned so wide. "You have no idea how ecstatic i am to be in this car and heading to a date with you right now. I swear, if this is all just a dream I never want to wake up."

Altair was grinning as she spoke about his car and how she really enjoyed that he was a bond fan as well. He was truly happy that she was enjoying this date just as much as he was since the date had just started and the both of them were already starting to hit it off so well together. He quickly reaches his hand over to her hand lightly grips it so he can get her attention since she was just in aw of the car right now. “Well I hope that this isn’t a dream as well because I am so enjoying that fact that you love this car and that you even accepted my offer to go out and have a coffee with you. Now I think we should start heading over to our destination.” He let’s go of her hand and starts to steadily but quickly drive over to the cafe he had planned for the both of them to get coffee from. As soon as he makes it he parks the car and walks to her door to open it for her. “Right this way ma’am.” He says in an impression of Pierce Brosnan.

Scarlet felt his hand and looked over to him with a smile. "Me too." She said. She then nodded and buckled up. She really couldn't believe she was in the Bond car. She felt like one of the Bond girls. Once they made it to their destination she grinned and took his hand as she got out of the car. "Why thank you, Mr Bond." She said in a British voice. Shw actually did have a pretty good British accent. That might be because she had gone to London for an entire year.

He laughs at what she says and just decides to go with it. He intertwined their arms together so he was walking in sync with her as the walked down the street to the cafe they were going to. “Well I do say Ms. Lane, you have seem to enchant me with your looks and personality. You have great charm.” He says as they enter the building. He grinned at the bit they were doing and just knew that they were going to grow into something that was going to last a good while.

Scarlet smiled at his response. Yeah, she could tell that she just met her soulmate. Holy shit, Scar. That was soooo cheesy. She shook her head at herself and then laughed softly. She looked up at him. "So... what it this place?" she asked him as she looked around the restaurant.

He looks down to her and then up to the cafe looking to the register and then to some of the tables they had set up. “Well this place is the Highland Park Cafe and it is really nice over here and it is also one of the first places where I performed my music.” He says to her still walking them to the line. He then stops them and looks at the menu near the register seeing what he should order and what he should drink. “They serve breakfast and lunch here and the food is really good. I’d recommend Grilled chicken sandwich.”

Scarlet follows Altair to the menu and looks up as well. "Hmm..." she says as she looks at the grilled chicken sandwich. She jas to agree that ir sounds really good but she would want to add avocado to the sandwich as well. "Okay that sounds good. But I think I'll add some avocado to it as well. What will you have?" she asked as she then looked to see what kind of drinks theh had and would be good with her sandwich.

Altair smiles at what she said she was going to get and then looks back to her to say “Well I’m probably going to get the same thing as you just the way that they make it and I’m also probably going to get the sweet peach tea they make here.” He looks into her eyes and starts to smile slowly enjoying his time with her.
