So I will be late to the party, but I am in for this one. I was going to get the ebook, but just decided to order a paperback which will arrive mid-July.

I'll start on the start day :)

The weekend got busy and I only started the book today. ;)

I just read up to the Chapter 2 and I am finding that his prose improved a lot since the book 1.

Chapter 5: (view spoiler)[ Corban's mother and Gar should tell Corban the whole story. By only telling him little pieces they are complicating everything. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 6: (view spoiler)[ we havent even seen Nathair yet and I already hate him even more than when I finished Malice. (hide spoiler)]

Nathair always made me want to gnash my teeth.

Chapter 7: (view spoiler)[ So that's how they are able to get messages going around so fast!

The pace at this book is so much better than at the previous one. I am reading chapter 17 now and a lot of interesting things already happened.

Chapter 22, 24%.

"I don’t believe in luck,’ Corban said. ‘Do you not? What do you believe in, lad.’ Corban thought about that. ‘This.’ He touched the hilt of his sword. ‘Him,’ pointing to Dath. ‘Her,’ a hand ruffling Storm’s fur. ‘Us,’ a gesture taking them all in. ‘Good answer,’ Camlin said."

Another character that I am enjoying a lot is Camlin.

Yay! My Amazon order arrived so I will be starting this earlier than expected :)
It was supposed to arrive on the 13th at the earliest so I'm super excited to actually join close to the scheduled date.

I finished it. The veredict: I loved it!

It is quite late now, so I will come back in the next few days to add my thoughts about the end.

I loved it, Beste! The whole book felt like the last 30%of Malice. It was fast paced, with lots of great moments, both in actions and characters development.

Do you think Corban's horse could lead Cywen to Corban? Now that she's found Pendathran they'll have to leave town and she won't want to leave Shield behind.... hmmmm....

Somehow I still like Nathair...we shall wait and see, though.

On Chapter 13 now and I'm so happy that the pacing is much better so far!

Ok, this book has been unexpected in some ways.

It seems to me that (view spoiler)[ Nathair is actually quite blind about the larger picture and what is going on, and is in for a rude betrayal in the future. the crucial factor there is where will Veridas diverge from him.

Corban needs to mature slightly faster if he is to pose a credible threat.

I really like Cywenn, I hope she eventually gets to stab someone fatally.

I will be honest, I don't really get Maquin's arc. He has lost literally everything, but what does he have to gain? Revenge on Jael? In the larger picture that's kind of a small scale aim.

And it wasn't like it was a surprise or anything. We all knew it would happen.

I've missed the feeling this series gives. Full of suspense, thriller, sadness, hatred and so on...
Gosh I think this list defines me as a masochist. Anyways, I'm happy back reading about Corban. Though he only feels like an observer in his own story yet.
