What Makes Us Ravenclaws?

I love learning new things and I love teaching new things and I think that's important to a Ravenclaw. There's almost nothing I love more than hearing a new and different perspective on something and, well, just like everyone else on this site I just love to read.As regards grades in school and such, yeah I've thankfully never struggled terribly. I love the satisfaction of after sitting down and working super hard on something or studying and coming out successful. I'm a bit of a perfectionist as well so I will work hard until something is ready and as good as I can possibly make it. I think that's why I'm a Ravenclaw. :)
What makes us a Ravenclaw? Many people would simply say, “Oh, because your smart,” or “you read a lot of books.” It’s more than being smart. Hermione Granger is practically a genius (and the best of her year) and isn’t in Ravenclaw. Ravenclaws have a in depth understanding of what we learn. We comprehend things on a different level than others might do. I take the statement of, “Wit beyond measure is a man’s greatest treasure,” and look at it this way: anybody can be smart. Anybody is smart in their own way, but Ravenclaws use wits along with smarts. We don’t just want to learn, we want to now every little thing about that subject. To me, a Ravenclaw is an understanding beyond the average ‘smart’ student. We look at a question, and see something different. That, is a Ravenclaw.

Somehow your comment made my day. :)

I consider myself a ravenclaw because often I think of some pretty nice solutions to problems. I know that's supposed to be more of a Slytherin thing but I'm not like cunning or anything it's just ideas
Most people say I am good at studies and say I am a genius and that is why I am obviously in Ravenclaw. But here I would like to qoute Einstine- " Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree , it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid..." So everyone is a genius in their own way whether you are a Ravenclaw or a Gryffindore. I think I am a Ravenclaw because I value knowledge and wits. I am always ready to learn new things but I hate studying . If I hear anything new the very next second I am on Google trying to find more about. I may also describe myself as an introvert as I speak to limited people. I question everything and does not accept anything at once. I like to have my own views and opinions. I think that makes me a Ravenclaw..... Also I think answering a riddle to enter the common room is far more better and interesting than just simply reciting a password .....

Well said! I definitely relate to the google things!

I believe a ravenclaw is a definition of a smart, rule abiding person who chooses knowledge and patience over power or bravery. I believe that every ravenclaw has a dark side, and that a ravenclaw is only described by a knowledgeable person. I believe everyone is all houses, for everyone, deep down inside of them, also has kindness, bravery, and a thirst for a small amount of power, at the least.Btw I typed it all myself 😀
Us ravenclaw’s are curious and witty, and we know what to do and when to do it. Everyone has their own was of knowledge, and sometimes I was to question the houses in the fact that: really? We’re dividing them so young? Won’t this lead to like..... world war 3 or something? It seems wrong to divide children is a such a way, making it so a gryffindoor, hufflepuff, and slytherin cannot feel smart, a hufflepuff, slytherin, and ravenclaw to my feel brave, a hufflepuff, gryffindoor, and ravenclaw to not feel cunning, and a ravenclaw, slytherin, and gryffindoor to not feel loyal or kind. Why would a school divide by one talent, when all of them have, well, all of them!
Long before I took the quiz, when I thought about which house I might be in, I always came back to Ravenclaw. This feels like a very strong part of my personality. I like reading, thinking about things from different angles and layers, I like words and solving puzzles. I agree with what many have already said - that Ravenclaws are particularly good at looking beyond the surface to find the clues or meaning behind.I agree we each have different amounts of each "house characteristic" and in the story, it took the combining of talents and ways of thinking to succeed. It took bravery, loyalty, problem-solving, and the ability to think like a dark wizard in order to defeat him.
I took the pottermore quiz, and it says I'm a Ravenclaw, but alot of people think I'm more of a Slytherin or a Gryffindor. I'm trying to figure out what makes me a Ravenclaw. Help, Anybody?
Well, a ravenclaw is a person who thinks of knowledge as the key element in life. They strive to learn and they are very very curious. They don’t think of anything but getting down to the facts, and research is the way of life to them. Does this sound like you? If so, you absolutely are a ravenclaw. If not, I will explain gryffindoor and slytherin to you so you can decide for yourself
A slytherin is a person whom thinks only of self power and works hard to bring themselves up above the standard. They are cunning and witty, and the house with the highest possibility of getting in a fist fight. Power and cunning are what the people value most, and I wouldn’t get in their bad side if I were you.....
A gryffindoor is the house in such bravery rules all. They are chivalrous and don’t think of anything accept besting the person in front with a bigger and better dare. They will take in just about anything, and they are great fighters. They value bravery over all thinking that if they just beat the best, everything will turn out in the end
Hufflepuff’s are kind and loyal, always serving others. They never knew think about themselves, and will work hard if it means helping another fellow student. Hufflepuffs value loyalty and kindness over all else, and they are the house most likely to friend anyone who walks past. If this sounds like you, you are a hufflepuff. If none sounds like you, I don’t know why your at hogwarts, but whatever the reason, the sorting hat never lies......... except of course when it does, putting me in hufflepuff when I had taken 3 other tests what out me in ravenclaw, INCLUDING pottermore itself!
Thank you! This really makes me wonder... Maybe I should retake the test. Alot of other mini quizzes say I’m a Gryffindor though. I don’t know. The problem with that is I’d have to make a new account.
Oh yes, I had that problem and I got ravenclaw and was happy with it but was curious so i made a new account and I got hufflepuff. I’m not happy with pottermore rn.
I was a Ravenclaw for a long time on Pottermore for very long time but recently I retook the test and it sorted me into Gryffindore...
@Grace (Not Available for Awhile), go to where you feel you fit best. When I took the Pottermore tear, I got Hufflepuff the first and second time. As I went on, I continuously got Ravenclaw, and decided that Ravenclaw was where I best fit. Choose where you think you would best fit. Obviously, you were chosen to be in Ravenclaw for a reason, because of our intellect. As a Ravenclaw, you can make the decision to whether you want to change or stay in the House. It’s entirely up to you.
Thanks, guys so much 😁 this really helped. Maybe I can find a way to take the Pottermore test again. Sometimes I feel like I belong here, sometimes I don't. You guys are all really nice though.😊

I am a Ravenclaw. I consider myself that way because I’m fairly smart, read a lot, am very school-focused, and I’m also a little weird.
I think that everybody is smart to some degree, but it’s the Ravenclaws that will go a long way for their knowledge.
