The first series I wrote was the dystopian Kings and Clans Trilogy. I didn't realize at the time that the units sold was a decent amount. Since then, I have written in some other genres, some of my books I believe are just as good, but have not attracted the interest as I expected they would.
So in between trying to write those novels in various genres, I would write; sermonized fiction, speculative fiction with a Christian worldview, Christian apologetics pieces, and some other articles. Most of these went to Smashwords, and you can download most of them for free HERE. I like writing for this website because I can see everyday that people are reading my work. (They are kind of stingy with reviews and some of them can be hateful.) The amount of downloads that my writing gets has been increasing with each new thing I come out with.
My latest book The Lucid Series: Android Uprising was one which I thought that would be readily embraced by many, and it may yet find some favor with Christians. I will be tempted to make it for free on Smashwords at some point.
As anyone reading this probably knows already, I find it irksome that Christians continue to see something like Lord of the Rings as Christian literature.
Not to rehash that again, I recommend looking at David's Reality Calling site as the starting point for true Christian fiction.
Anyway, so doing what I do after a novel is published, I think about what to do next. The idea of writing a serial fiction series kept coming into my cranium. After asking my friends here in this group about it, I decided against it.
I am not interested in doing anything lukewarm right now, so I wrote a short story about techno-isolation and turned it into another Christian cyberpunk plot that I think would be perfect for further development, including serializing. I put it on Smashwords and got two reviews on it, neither of which was hateful.
So I am working on episode 2 for Techno-Oblivion. and would like to do many more. I invite you to check it out and tell me what you think about it. Continue/discontinue; What to do with it, etc.

Stan | 22 comments Nice first episode!

I just started reading a book about writing short stories. It is a pretty daring publication, as the author presents his drafts and feedback from reviewers. I'm on the section of writing tips now.

If you're interested. One huge tip is to tell through the story rather than telling as the narrator, even in short stories. That might be helpful for Techno-Oblivion.

You certainly hit current realities well in your stories!
