I'm always looking for an angle and it's the first thing I thought of...that someone was scared that she'd been discovered.
I didn't think of that possibility. I was just wondering why Alicia started screaming. Was it because Mrs. Higgins was giving birth and she realized that is what she would have to go through? Or did she recognize Sarah and realize that someone now knew her hiding place.
I thought it was because of Mrs. Higgins giving birth. She was screaming before Sarah recognized her, though she had a reaction to that, too.
Veronica wrote: "Honestly, that possibility never occurred to me...even though it's totally plausible."It never occurred to me either, but it makes sense in hindsight that Sarah's recognition might have been a catalyst.
