What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

Hi, I am looking for a children's hidden picture book. All I can remember is that there was a detective, that followed robbers around the world. Each page was a different country, and different objects you can find. It was over-sized, and had vivid pictures. The robbers wore blue pants, and striped shirts with a mask that covered half their face. The cover depicted a magnifying glass, but there wasn't an actual one that came with it. We "played" this book so often that it fell apart. Any suggestions you have about what this book could have been will be much appreciated.

When did you read it or when was it published? A range of years is fine. What was the style of the illustrations? Realistic, cartoony, water colors, etc.

I dont know when it was published, but it was at least 10 years ago. The style was a lot like "Wheres Waldo", cartoony.

Yes, the style was similar

Maybe Detect Donald by Tony Tallarico? It's part of the Where Are They? series, so it could be one of the others, but this one definitely has a detective in it.
