YA Reading With Kelly & Kelli! discussion

Last game I'm starting today, I promise! Haha. How this game works, is we start at the number, 500. Every time a mod posts, the number goes up by one [501], but every time a member posts the number goes down by one [499]. If the number reaches 0 members win, if it reaches 1000 mods win! So why do we want to sow discontent between the mods and members. In England it was the Mods and Rockers. The Mods wore suits and rode scooters the Rockers in leather and rode Motorcycles.

The objective of this game isn’t to create discourse. It’s merely a friendly competition to see who can be more active. :)

LOL I know Kelly that was my reply to your first message. I like being active on this site. I enjoy the book conversations and other added benefits I have a good page I go on that is all about spreading jokes. It's quite fun even if their are only three of us on it right now.

Oooh double whammy. That sucks. I work in a small bottle shop, but it's really quiet during the day shifts. And apart from a bit of ticketing there isn't much to keep occupied with.

The debate is about how NA should be defined and if books with protagonists 18+ that have been labelled as YA are incorrectly genred.

It's all over the Twitter book community atm and I posted a discussion on my blog and it's super interesting the different ways people view the genre. So it isn't really surprising that the genre is so misunderstood and stigmatized.

Hmm interesting. I personally think it doesn’t necessarily matter how old the characters are, and that YA books should be placed in that category, based more on the subject matter, and if it appeals primarily to a young adult audience.
