J.B. Thomas (jbthomas) | 5 comments Reflecting on LeGuin's recent passing, I'm reminded of how much this book made an impression on me. LeGuin took a barely-mentioned name from Virgil's Aeneid and created a compelling character, adding further intrigue with Lavinia's own awareness that she is simply a figment of the poet's imagination. Brilliant.

María Elena Alonso-Sierra | 37 comments She was an incredible writer, with an incredible imagination. Her Left Hand of Darkness was my introduction to her work. Her short stories were also incredible. And I loved her EarthSea series. A shame she passed, but she has left an wonderful legacy.
I think I may revisit her works once more. It's been a while since I read her.

Lenita Sheridan | 1010 comments I also read The Left Hand of Darkness. She was a truly imaginative and creative writer. It was by far the best book I have read by her.
