Hi everyone. I am halfway through this and enjoying it. Hope you are too. Looking forward to chatting about it soon.
I'll try to read it in the next couple of weeks. I just have to finish a couple of books I've been reading for a while.
I am itching to hear other people’s views of this book and look forward to your views, Lorraine. It made quite an impression on me - partly to do with the images of the lonely landscape and partly the poignancy of the events that brought Trond and Lars there in later life. It's hard to say anything else without spoiling it for others so I've put another thread up for spoilers.
I do need to get this. I have read 2 of his books previously, I curse the river of time and I refuse (thought I refuse was excellent read) so I want to give this a go, once I get a copy of it.

It's not so very different from Out Stealing Horses really. Plenty of hints that are not always completely explained.
I'm new to book discussions (never participated in one before) and I've just read this book, so like Sue "I'm itching to hear other people's views". What normally happens now before I forget the story :).
Hi PeterI've put a separate spoiler thread up and included a couple of newspaper reviews and some discussion questions the publisher produced. I'll post on there soon. Do dive in with your thoughts anytime you like.

I'm 80 pages in to the book, and while I'm not far enough in to comment on the storyline, I am really enjoying the sense of place that the writing has. Aiming to make a lot of progress over the weekend when I'm off work...
I'm afraid I was sick and unable to concentrate on reading last week. My knee is also recovered so I am back to work tomorrow. I will have to read during my lunch break until my knee is up to walking a bit. I hope to dive into this book over the next couple of days. I have been avoiding the spoiler thread until I get a good bit further into the book.
Sorry to hear that, bwk, but pleased to hear you’re on the mend and that you’ll be joining us. Hope you like the book,!
