Some of my reading thoughts -I can read two (maybe 3) of these:
Wonder (one word title, YA, female author)
Silence Fallen (vampires, female author, 2nd card: new release)
The Hate U Give (YA, female author)
Miller's Valley (female author, coming of age, proper name)
Turtles All the Way Down (YA, male author)
and one of these:
If The Creek Don't Rise (female author, card 2 - Hist Fic, standalone, mountains)
Fierce Kingdom (female author)
Emma in the Night (proper name, female author)
I plan to gopher more and try to branch out with my tasks. I just went through the books I'm supposed to read for other reasons to see if they fit in here. I'll see what else I can find to fit tasks that aren't filled.
I mentioned this in the main thread, but just to repeat here - we should focus on the tasks in the first card first. If everyone reads approximately what the said they would, we should finish the first card and a few tasks on the second. If we focus too much on the second card and don't finish the first, we won't get any of those points. It's likely that we won't get to the third card at all.
I am also expecting two books from the library that I can try to fit in. They would have to take the place of the one book in the bottom group that I listed above, if I read one. Basically, I will be able to read one physical book this week and listen to two (maybe three) audios. That's the reason for the separation. The two library books are: Force of Nature - 2nd in a series, female author
The Wife Between Us - female author, 2nd card: standalone and others
Krisrie, this chalkenge looks amazing!!It's late here so I will start serching my tbr tomorrow. I should manage 3 to 4 books depending on lenth.
Love the team name Kristie 😃
I can read three (maybe 4) of these: Foreigner (one word title, female author, set in 1900s (2nd card), author's name starts with R (3rd card), release date before 2000 (3rd card))
Appleby's End (police procedural, proper name in title, male author, set in England (2nd card), release date before 2000 (3rd card)
Dom Casmurro (set in 1800s, romance, proper name in title, male author, classic (2nd card), translated (3rd card), release date before 2000 (3rd card)
Voice of the Violin (title starts with "v", police procedural, male author, set in the 1900s (2nd card), translated (3rd card), release date before 2000 (3rd card))
The Quiet American (books made into movies, male author, set in 1900s (2nd card), set in England (2nd card), classic (2nd card)
Tuesday Nights in 1980 (female author, set in 1900s (2nd card), historical fiction (2nd card), set in the US (2nd card)
Gods of Howl Mountain (male author, family drama (2nd card), historical fiction (2nd card), set in 1900s (2nd card), set in the US (2nd card), new release (2nd card), mountain setting (2nd card),
Japanese Tales of Mystery & Imagination (horror, male author, mystery or thriller (2nd card), translated (3rd card), release date before 2000 (3rd card), author using a pseudonym (3rd card)
Thanks, Margo! That's great, Carol. :) It looks like you have a few tasks that are different from mine and possibly difficult to fill, so that's excellent. Let's see what others come up with, then we can decide.

Kristie wrote: "Hi Sandra!"I literally fell sleep as soon as I posted my comment yesterday. :D
I expect to have a couple of free hours this afternoon to do some gophering. Between the 13 and 15 of Feb I will be driving a total of 20 hours (15 of those completely alone), so it would be great if I could find a couple of audiobooks to fit there. That would give me some vantage. I will come back to report my findings. :)
Mikayla wrote: "I would suggest some things but my public library is missing a lot of books. What if for Row 2 we do The Hazel Wood for a young adult novel?"
Are you suggesting that you'd like to read that for the toppler? I can add it to a schedule.
We will need to work together to complete the bingo card, so we will need to plan what everyone is going to read ahead of time. Will you be able to let us know your plans? Or are you planning to pick up the tasks that no one else has filled?
Margo wrote: "At first look this is what i've got. I will update if I find more.Row 1:

This is awesome, Margo! Do you have a preference or are you able to read any that we need? Also, how many would you like me to add to the schedule?
edit: Margo, it seems that some of the books you added don't actually fit the tasks they're assigned to. For example, there isn't a person with glasses on the cover of The Boy in the Striped Pajamas and I couldn't find an edition that has that. Also, Pines is written by Blake Crouch, who is a male author. I may move some of your books around if needed, but I'll still pick from the ones you have listed.
I'm going to start a spreadsheet for what we plan to read so that we know what tasks still need to be filled. If anyone else would like to take over this task, feel free to let me know. In your posts, please let me know how many books you would like to start with on the schedule and which books (with tasks) you'd like me to choose from for the list.
Mikayla wrote: "Kristie wrote: "Mikayla wrote: "I would suggest some things but my public library is missing a lot of books. What if for Row 2 we do The Hazel Wood for a young adult novel?"
Are y..."
Ok, I'll put you down for that one, then when you are ready to pick your next book, you'll just have to look at what tasks haven't been filled yet and tell us which task you're reading for.
Kristie wrote: "Margo wrote: "At first look this is what i've got. I will update if I find more.Row 1:

Okay, person with glasses on the cover was a cut and paste error,
it should have been Stoner! But I was honestly convinced Blake Crouch was a woman! what a mistake to make LOL
As to preferences, I own all the books i've listed. I kinda want to read The Great Gatsby as it's my oldest book on GR! But it is a tiddler so if I am happy to fill in whatever gaps I can. I'm good for 4, maybe 5 if they're shortish :-)
I wish I could help with the spreadsheet but I wouldn't trust my dylexia :(
lol! That's great, Margo. :) I will add you for 4 and if you are able to read a fifth, we can add it later.
We're really going to need a book with a beach umbrella on the cover. If anyone has one they can read, please let me know.
Mikayla wrote: "Kristie wrote: "We're really going to need a book with a beach umbrella on the cover. If anyone has one they can read, please let me know."Why We Broke Up. One edition of this boo..."
It has to be the edition you read though. Do you have a copy with the beach umbrella on it?
I can't find that edition on Goodreads.
I found a few that fit the task. It's just a matter of whether someone wants to read them and has access to them. So far, I found these:
I saw another recently, but I can't think of what it was called. I'll add it, if I remember it.
I have
on my tbr pile so I could read that. Its 319 pages and I normally don't read that big of a book for a toppler, but since I've only committed to one it should be fine. I will try for more, but since my daughter is getting married in less than a month, my reading time may be limited. If I can do more I'll just find something to fill in any gaps.
It is quicker at list the squares I have nothing for!Coming of age story
MC is a teacher or professor
Beach umbrella on cover
Snow on cover
I don't seem to do extremes of temperatures ;-D
I have enough alternatives that I can cover any other square as needed.
Kristie wrote: "That would be great, Lori! Thanks. :) Congrats on your daughter getting married!"Thank you! We're very excited and very stressed, lol.
I'll count on reading that one, and request it from the library.
This is what I have to start with:Carol:
Police procedural - Appleby's End
Set in 1800s - Dom Casmurro
Title starts with “V" - Voice of the Violin
Kristie:

Here are my books:Beauty and the Beast Novelization For: Snow on Cover
and: Percy Jackson's Greek Gods For: Proper Name in Title
Mikayla - Are you adding one of her books to your list of commitments? If you have a specific book in mind, we could see if it fits one of the more difficult tasks first. Otherwise, I can plug it in for you in our list. Jake - Would it be better if I just put you in as committed to one and you can try to read the second? If so, could we start with the snow book?
Mikayla wrote: "I was thinking Dark Angel"Hey Mikayla - I just wanted to point out that that book is pretty long (488 pages). I didn't know if you noticed that. I've added it to our list. I just wanted to make sure you were aware of the length.
Kristie, you can put me down for my first book:First book in a series: Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children
I had also in mind for my second book (books I have at home right now):
News of the World, female author, set in the 1800s
Alias Grace female author, proper name in title
Beautiful Ruins, romance
His Bloody Project: Documents Relating to the Case of Roderick Macrae, male author
BUT if all those categories are already filled or are low priority, then I will try to fit another category for my second book. I don't think I can read more than 2. Maybe Winter Garden for snow in the cover. I will check my library's cover.
Ok, checked and my library has a cover with snow for Winter Garden. So, I could go with First book in a series: Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children
Snow in the cover: Winter Garden
if this works for the team. You have my other options in my previous post, so I am fine with whatever works the best.
Perfect. I'll put you down for Percy, Jake, and just let us know if you will get to a second book. And I'll put you down for Miss Peregrine and Winter Garden, Sandra. Thank you!
