Cyberpunk discussion

Another cyberpunk story that is making waves in the media due to the movie 'Blade Runner 2049'. First published in 1968, it inspired and predates the original Blade Runner movie released in 1982, as well as the novel 'Neuromancer' published in 1984.

I recall reading this book in the late 80's and of course the movie is a classic! I am a huge PKD fan and is amazing how many stories have been turned into movies. I have been meaning to reread Do Androids Dream for awhile now and after seeing this post has moved it higher up on my read lust!

PKD's work is amazingly weird and none of the movies I've seen based on that work have managed to capture the stories they are based on very well. He's just so out there. Blade Runner was certainly the best of them, however, despite being only tangentially related to the short story itself.

If PKD and L Ron H had ever figured out a way to collaborate and create a workable religion/social system, the world would be a very weird place right about now!
