This section is for sharing links, photos, videos, etc of a scientific nature.

Here's a great YouTube channel I found the other day all about poisons.

Cole Diehl | 2 comments IMO, YouTube channels are a great way to learn about the sciences. I'm very physics-oriented, so that is what I have to offer. Here are a few very interesting and well-developed channels for the field:

(In order: Sixty Symbols, minutephysics, Periodic Videos, Numberphile)
Some of you have most likely seen these channels and videos, but I thought I'd put them out there in case.

I love MinutePhysics, such a great channel. I totally agree with you, YouTube is a fantastic way to learn about science. I'm very much not physics-orientated, I study biology in University, so these are much appreciated!

hubble ultra deep field.

one of the most important, breath taking photos ever taken

Hi I'm new and I were just wondering if anybody here are into quantum physics and like to read quantum physics book.I love quantum physics, something about it that just make me happy

i'm no quantum physicist, but what did you have in mind?

as they say 'quantum physics-the dreams stuff is made of......they also say that if you understand quantum physics then you don't understand quantum physics.

Anca | 5 comments Do people prefer to read very academic science books? I am more into popular science books. I love to find out interesting facts and to understand the world better, but I also want to be entertained.

Vish Wam (vishwamsankaran) | 1 comments Same here Anca! I too prefer Popular Science for the same reason.Hoping to make a better model of the world and its workings.
btw Guys. To quench your thirst for Quantum Mechanics you might wanna try out this popular science book "Life on the Edge" by Jim Al-Khalili and Johnjoe McFadden. It combines the spookiness of quantum mechanics (quantum entanglement in particular) to the unexplained biological processes. The book came out just last year. Reviews seem really good.

Liam Dodd | 1 comments I'm a fan of both styles. I'm a physicist by trade so some of the popular science books about physics aren't actually all that interesting to read for me, some writers are very good at showing me other interesting parts and characters that I may miss on my day to day academia.

Most of the time I tend to read the more 'hard popular science' stuff for the same reason, but when it comes to maths I find the popular science stuff does a far better job of actually explaining how everything works than the more rigorous and text book style entries do.
