Something Borrowed implies exactly what you might think ... two best friends forever face the destruction of their friendship when the maid of honor sleeps with her best friend's fiance. What starts out as a one-time event slowly burgeons into a full-on affair, and the fallout is everything one would expect.
What was the most disturbing part of this to me was the author's choice to virtually absolve the protagonist (really more of an antagonist?) of her indiscretions by making the bride-to-be just as obnoxious and awful as you can possibly imagine.
I don't know that I'm particularly proud to say this was one of my choices, but it fit the theme nicely. For a summer/chick-lit book, it's not bad. I've actually read it three times, each time having a different experience with the book. I don't mind re-reads as they often offer a new perspective on the book and the story in general.
