Y’all, I’ve still got a ridiculous Currently Reading stack going atm. What are you all reading this month?
So far I have read
and
. I will finish up
today. Then there are about five more books that I would like to read before the end of the month. Will see how that goes. Got to get the library books back so others may enjoy them. :-) Hope everyone is enjoying the books they are reading.

Awesome, Teresa! Glad to hear you're making good progress with your reading goals!

Thanks Allison! I finished up I Have Lost My Way and A Season for New Beginnings: The Sequel to a Season for Living. Have two more books I am working on and should be finishing those up by this weekend. Always have a couple of books in different places going.Allison wrote: "Teresa wrote: "So far I have read

I just got back from a week and a half long vacation, and I've also been acclimating to a new position within my job, so I've been crazy busy, and have barely been reading! So far this month, I've finished The Holocaust: The Third Reich and the Jews, which was a new kind of Holocaust history book for me. Instead of just facts, or fiction, even, the author takes a look at how this came to happen, and puts forth theories from different professors, and people who lived in Germany at the time. It was very interesting, but the writing was kind of dry, unfortunately.
I also DNF'ed American Gods, which I was so sad about! It's a book that I should have absolutely loved, but I find Gaiman's writing to be boring.
I'm reading Llewellyn's 2019 Witches' Datebook and Thor The Wind Raiser And The Eyrarland Image currently, both of which have been very interesting and fun reads, and I plan on picking up Blackfin Sky from the library really soon!
I think I'll put The Holocaust: The Third Reich and the Jews on my TBR. I agree about DNF of American Gods. I tried to get through that, twice. Just couldn't do it. I thought maybe it was just me... :)

There's also testimonies of all different kinds of people, Jews, Nazis, other citizens, etc, towards the end, which I really enjoyed reading.
I'm also glad to hear it wasn't just me! I read another book by Gaiman too, Norse Mythology, which everyone loved, and I could barely get through that, too. He's not even a bad writer, and I actually laughed during some parts of the book, but somehow, even with that, I find his books to be a chore.

So far this month I have read The Hate U Give, Three Dark Crowns, One Dark Throne, When Marnie Was There, and Tail of the Moon, Volume 1 Currently reading Wing Jones. I plan to read two more books this month which are The Healer's Apprentice and The Merchant's Daughter.
Let's see, this month I've read The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, Jane Doe, The Secret Mother, Antony and Cleopatra, and listened to my first-ever audio books, Make Your Bed: Little Things That Can Change Your Life...And Maybe the World, and Oliver Twist, narrated by Claire Walsh (she was FANTASTIC!) Good grief, I didn't realize I'd read that many already this month! I'm currently reading Red Rising because the group is reading it. So far, I like it a lot.
Guernsey and Jane Doe are brilliant and I can't recommend them enough! The rest I've mentioned are good, except for Make Your Bed, which is just so-so imo. We only listened to it because my in-laws raved about it. If you decide to listen to Oliver Twist, please try the one that Walsh narrated because she had all the voices down perfectly.

Interestingly enough, at the half month mark, I already had 5 books completed, which is a bit of a record for me considering how little time I have to devote to reading in a given month. I still have a long list of books to get to but so far, here are the ones I’ve finished this month (and all were good – 4 or 5 star ratings):Rust & Stardust by T. Greenwood – 5 stars
Not Her Daughter by Rea Frey – 4.5 stars
A River of Stars by Vanessa Hua – 4.5 stars
She Was the Quiet One by Michele Campbell – 4 stars
The Family Tabor by Cherise Wolas – 4 stars
I’m currently reading The Late Bloomers' Club by Louise Miller (needed a palette cleanser after 5 intense/heavy reads in a row) which I’m almost done with and plan on starting Kristina McMorris newest book Sold on a Monday this weekend (publication date is 8/28). Also trying to squeeze in Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan, since the movie just came out and I intend to go see it very soon (the book has been on my TBR forever but been focusing on clearing out as many ARCs as I can so unfortunately neglected all the other books I have on my shelf).

Candace wrote: "Loved Crazy Rich Asians and can’t wait to see the movie. I need to get busy and read the sequels."I just read in the news today that they are planning on bringing everyone back for the second movie (based on book 2), which Warner Brothers hasn’t officially green-lighted yet (waiting to see final box office numbers though they are 99.9% sure they are going to move forward with the sequels) but are already in talks on the script. So yea, probably a good idea to get the sequels read too! :-)

I’m actually quite excited, as I’ve been seeing some good reviews for this one and I’ve been wanting to read her books since your recommendation of Bridge of Scarlett Leaves (which I still haven’t gotten around to reading). I’m hoping I’ll be able to finish by publication date (though by the looks of it now will probably be a few days late).
I'm taking a break from reading for a couple of days, but planning to go to Half Price Books' "mother ship" store on Friday. Got a long list of books to look for. First on the list is Foundation. I've never read it! I feel bad about that since it's lauded as a masterpiece and a classic.
