Started reading yesterday, and the book already gives a nice feel. I love the 70s setting, and Devin Jones is relatable, though ordinary. I am excited to see how the events will unfold.

(view spoiler)[ I was not fond of Eddie guy since I suspected he murdered Linda Gray, but he's one of the guys who act rude towards others because of their own life problems. Really unfortunate and sad, that his kid died. I love how the characters are portrayed in this book. (hide spoiler)]

I just started and have been enjoying the beginning. I thought it was exciting for Dev to work in Holland and the free ride was a nice bonus. I'm not sure who the old lady at the fortune telling booth is, but I think she'll have more appearances in the story soon

I thought before reaching this part that something tragic (view spoiler)[happened to Eddie for him to bully others, especially the greenies. I did not expect that it was his little girl. It was really sad how he wished Dev did not save him so he could be with his girl :( (hide spoiler)]

FINALLY finished this book.

(view spoiler)[A closure for Linda Gray and who killed her was finally revealed. The latter half of the story was centered on Mike and his relationship with Dev. I love how he wants to prove to his mom that he can be strong. I was a little sad that he died suddenly, but we all know that he would eventually. I don't think this was much of a horror book as I thought it would be, yet it was a good read. (hide spoiler)]

Oh! I forgot to mention here that I finished this book a long time ago, sorry for that. And I agree with you! This book had different feels than the other Stephen King books, the cover is too misleading. But this easily became one of my favorite reads, I love to read a heartwarming story any day.

(view spoiler)[ I can't believe he quit school to stay at Joyland just to try to see a ghost. I wouldn't want to see a ghost. The whole thing seems creepy to me even before his friend saw the ghost. I wonder if there was a reason just his friend saw it and if it had anything to do with him eventually dying early or something (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ This stuff with Annie and Mike is kind of random. Why has he taken such an interest in this kid? I'm glad they are finally taking him to Joyland like he wants, but it seems like something bad is going to happen, probably to Mike (hide spoiler)]

I totally get it! Sometimes I'm too ambitious with my reads too. But this one is super good, so it's something to look forward to.
