Ticket to Read Book Challenge 2018 discussion

I read this book as part of an online book club and it was hard to know where to slot it.

At its core, the book centers around the kidnapping, sold children, and adoption abuses in the Tennessee Home for Children and the corruption that supported it. It was, at times, hard to read, trying to wrap my head around the abuse of power that is driven my money.

The novel is based on real people and real situations, and after reading it I had to go to a little google search to learn more, so I categorized it under alternative history.

We all have family secrets, and this novel also touches on why we keep them, if we should share them, and whose secrets they are to tell.
