I found the adjective order most interesting.

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 1236 comments Even more interesting, Theodore, at least to me, is that most of us put adjectives in the right order without even thinking about it. Thankfully!

That hit me, too...amazing! Not sure why.

Dale Lehman (dalelehman) | 1814 comments The split infinitive is a question with a split personality. According to "official rules," one should not split an infinitive, but as I understand it, this is actually a rule imposed upon English from the Latin, where it is impossible to split an infinitive because a Latin infinitive is a single word. Because the infinitive in English is two words, it is entirely possible and sometimes can be done with good effect.

So is it truly an error egregiously to split an infinitive, or is it just fine to creatively split an infinitive? ;-)

The answer probably is yes, and which you do may depend upon the context.

I agree...there are times when to avoid it results in English that sounds awful. That is something up with which I will not put.

Yes! I don't think anyone actually taught it to me, I just picked it up. Shows how effective it is to copy others, and how much we take in without noticing.
