Shelf Indulgence Book Club discussion

Please no spoilers after chapter 18.

So I do think once Mia is in the Red Chruch the book reads more quickly and I'm not having as much difficulty following along. I'm still listening to the audiobook and I am really enjoying it. Can we talk about how crazy their teachers are?! when Mia got her arm cut off because she out smarted Solis and Spiderkiller poisoning all the kids!

I'm interested to know the motives off the other Acolytes training to be assassins...Hush, Carlotta, Ash, and Jessamine.

Yea we aren't getting very deep side characters from anyone. The teachers are brutal but I'm loving it. Is anyone having a hard time getting attached to the characters?

I finally reached chapter 10 on the audiobook!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, so far I'm not really digging any of the characters. I'm not attached to Mia either. I made it to chapter 16 and I just couldn't anymore. I am not into this book at all. I read almost 1/2 and I have to admit I am going to officially DNF the book.

Has anyone noticed there are a couple Game of Throne and a Doctor Who nod?
