Joshua Slaugh The tournament at Gorlan is a book prequel to the popular series ranger’s apprentice and starts out right after the events of a mini story in ranger’s apprentice book eleven the lost stories where a ranger named Halt and a ranger named Crowley. They are on the run from a evil lord named Morgarath’s soldiers. Morgarath has been taking advantage of the kings old age to use him for personal gain he plans to have the king denounce his son and make him the heir to the throne. But there is still one thing left in his way the rangers an elite force that serve only the king so morgarath has been accusing them of crimes and getting them banished from the kingdom one by one. Can Crowley and Halt stop morgarath in his evil plans? Only the book The tournament at Gorlan can help you find out.

The tournament at Gorlan is a great book to read especially if you have read the Ranger’s apprentice series. It is not required to enjoy this book but I think having read it makes this book so much better. After having read this my first thought after finishing it was is the sequel out yet? So as far as books go this is one of my favorite and I think it is definitely a good read. The world of the early years series of books is similar to the hobbit and lord of the rings where it shares a universe with other book series. In this case it is shared with the book series Ranger’s Apprentice and Brother Band. My favorite genre of books is fantasy and I think that this is a good addition to other fantasy books. One of the best things about this book is the detail the book has so much detail that it paints a image in your head and you can almost feel like your there. These are the reasons why I think that this is a very good book and the reasons I think that this book is a good read.
