Moving my post to this thread:Just wanted to mention that I've started Have Space Suit - Will Travel and am enjoying it. It's alot of fun, in a retro-futuristic kind of way.
Also, the actual writing is good. The characters feel real, and there is alot of humor in the story. Kip's father is pretty funny, in an eccentric kind of way. I'm really enjoying this book!

I just got my copy too. Need to finish up the Atwood novel about Canadiacity, then I’ll get going on this one.
I really like that there are strong female characters in this book. There is a little girl genius named PeeWee, and an alien they call Mother Thing, and both are smart and brave. To me this is a welcome surprise, since the book was written in 1958.
I have the audiobook and am really enjoying it. Good adventure story and quite retro.
