*tosses celebratory confetti*

message 2: by Jes (new)

Jes Drew | 175 comments We do need help, though. We should call the Asgard brothers.

message 3: by Jes (new)

Jes Drew | 175 comments Yeah, too bad they couldn't find another way. I mean, they are blood.

100+ characters does sound a bit chaotic, but I can definitely emphasize there. What short story did you publish?

Jes Drew | 175 comments SHINE wrote: ""Too Much Of Everything" It's a short story based off from my bedroom in 2016. Four main characters and lessons to be learn. I still have my copy in my room.

Oh.

message 6: by Jes (new)

Jes Drew | 175 comments How come?

message 7: by Jes (new)

Jes Drew | 175 comments Ooh, that's harsh.

message 8: by Jes (new)

Jes Drew | 175 comments Wow. That is brutal.

message 9: by Merenwen (new)

Merenwen Inglorion | 389 comments Uh, Shine...you can still use the names...they just can't be used in the same way that the others are being used... X-)

If you're trying to choose names that have never before been used, you're...well, probably never going to find anything, tbh.
Just steer clear of things trademarked (which isn't the same as copyright) by big-name corporations (like Marvel), and wildly popular series (ie, you probably don't want to use titles like "Chamber of Secrets").
Things like "Rebellion" and "Pangea" are common enough words, and not trademarked/copyrighted (though you may want to make extra effort to differentiate your Rebellion from that of the Star Wars universe), so you're fine using those. As for "Dark Forest", you may want to add a few more adjectives/nouns to differentiate it from every other dark forest found in fantasy stories: ie, the Dark Forest of [name of bad guy], Dark Forest of [type of death/monster], [name of someone]'s Dark Forest, etc.

Literally my thoughts every time I sit down to write...

message 12: by Jes (new)

Jes Drew | 175 comments Yep.

Oceane McAllister (therealqueenofnarnia) | 592 comments SHINE wrote: "Jes wrote: "Yep."

Even Writers/Authors have a little “Dark Side” while writing the scenes for our precious characters."

For me, it's all the time. My characters never get a break and my readers are always readying themselves for someone to die. I'm terrible. XD

message 14: by Oceane (new)

Oceane McAllister (therealqueenofnarnia) | 592 comments SHINE wrote: "I’m just as bad. Death scenes, horrible flashbacks with tragics, things going wrong, haunted things, and a whole lot other things in a clean way."

Totally same! I'll have to read some of your works someday ;)

message 15: by Jes (new)

Jes Drew | 175 comments You should. I'll totally join.

message 16: by Jes (new)

That would be cool!

message 19: by Oceane (new)

Oceane McAllister (therealqueenofnarnia) | 592 comments SHINE wrote: "At first, I was going to have long series, but short series are fine."

I totally agree! Just go with whatever works.

message 20: by Oceane (new)

Oceane McAllister (therealqueenofnarnia) | 592 comments SHINE wrote: "My poor characters. Their flashbacks are so tragic in the chapters with PLOT TWISTS."

Again, literally me! Perhaps we should all write a novel of pure misery someday XD

message 21: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Dragina | 1745 comments Seriously, I'm working on a really dark novel, with loads of death, and lots of pain. But let's not forget my poor character can't seem to escape it. So I'm crying at every scene. Because. It's. So. Bad.

message 22: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Dragina | 1745 comments It can be sorta fun because your creating something extremely deep and painful, but I don't find the backstory's all that enjoyable. Their literally pieces of real people's life.

message 23: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Dragina | 1745 comments Wow. :P

message 24: by M (new)

M Shen (thecheshireninja) | 626 comments Hmm, dark stories? All of my stories have some depth of darkness to them, but I like to handle them with light. Things like pain and suffering and hate and stuff. Characters die in pretty much every book I've ever written and probably will write. I have one particular story that deals with blood. :P xD Aren't we all just feeling so pleasant today

message 25: by Oceane (new)

Oceane McAllister (therealqueenofnarnia) | 592 comments My readers have learned to expect the worst and that happily ever afters are going to rarely be happy. But, I mean, I can't blame them. I have a reputation for killing off favorites... *guilty smile*

Oceane McAllister (therealqueenofnarnia) | 592 comments SHINE wrote: "I just wish my Story Dreams would OBEY me. It would make writing a lot easier."

Stories rarely choose to listen. XD It's one of a writer's chief struggles.

message 27: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Dragina | 1745 comments I literally deal with run away plots all. The. Time.

message 28: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Dragina | 1745 comments You really have a problem with Marvel Excession. O.O
