With her professional training and experience, and her own personal history, I think she was (amazingly) able to see Adam sympathetically and with love.
Me, too, Charlene. I liked how she hung in there with him despite her friends’ advice. She saw something admirable inside him below the surface. I liked her for that.
Poor Adam. He had miserable parents, conniving friends and mentors...it’s a wonder he turned out so well.
I liked them as a couple and how their relationship developed.

Adam is a resilient person. Lousy parents made him reach out to others to fill those voids. Even though the friends and mentors were evil, Adam took their concern and attention and became a strong person with it. He didn't see the bad, only the good, and it made him a mostly whole person.Meredith and Adam were both damaged people and together the helped each other heal the wounds of the past. They were not your typical RS couple and I really love that they found each other.
Wow, they were both put the wringer, weren't they. One of the strengths of their relationship moving forward was that they both worked through their problems individually and then together. They should be able to be sensitive to the other's mental health. Hopefully it will make them stronger together.
