Stephen King Fans discussion

I've been wondering if there are any The Stand characters in Dark Tower Series. I do not know if I should read The Stand first or not if there are. I'll understand if it's a spoiler and can't be answered but I'm coming off of IT and would like to read several smaller books rather than a huge book right off the bat.

Trying to not give any spoilers...

Well, the main bad guy in The Stand is in The Dark Tower series as well as many other books. There’s a section in one of The Dark Tower books that’s from The Stand but you wouldn’t know it unless you’ve read The Stand. There is a character in The Stand that might be a twinner for a character in one of The Dark Tower books. There’s a character from Salem’s Lot that is in one of The Dark Tower books. A character from Hearts in Atlantis is in a DT book.

There are a lot of characters, twinners, and characters that are related to other characters (neighbors, relatives, acquaintances etc) throughout all the books not just The DT books. Some appear in more than one book and never a DT book.

I don’t think it matters what books you read first. If you come across a character it’s more of an Easter egg, IMO. The only character I can think of at the top of my head that it makes sense you know who he is when you come across him again is Father Callahan from Salem’s Lot.

If you think you are going to miss out on something, then read the books in the order in which they were published.
