What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

I read a book in the last few months which opens with a woman with her bf in an apt down and out, drugs apparently and she uses then goes out into a storm and not seen again. Her adult daughter lives in New Orleans working as a dancer and in a bar and gets the news and decides to return 'home' to search for her. The story continues and centers around the daughter, the family she finds back home on a homestead and her continued search for her mother. She stays in a sparse cabin and visits with relatives on the land...
