I have just read Bad Dad
The dad is a veteran stock car racer who early on loses a leg in a crash; he spends the rest of the book with a wooden leg and no work. But he still wants to be a good dad.
I've never read Of Mice and Men - shame on me, so fingers crossed this wins so I'll get the chance soon.
Thanks, Sara! Peter - I haven't read it either but two of my daughters are studying it at school. They have recommended it to me so I feel this would be a good time to read it!
You know, Finn, that's when I read it. I wonder if my viewpoint has changed now that I aged. I love Steinbeck and think this is a great nomination.
The nominations have officially ended but we only have one book nominated and seconded. Does everyone want to extend the nomination period for another couple of days to see if we get more books suggested?
No, I'm delighted with Of Mice and Men but if you wanted to include the other 2 nominated books without them being seconded, I'm happy with that.
I'm not going to read it again . I think I've read it about 4 times so I'm good . It's a great book . I'll pop in to the discussion and I'll catch up on my east coast of Ireland challenge:)
