Emily Aday This week, I chose to read another novel from John Green because I have really enjoyed reading "Turtles All the Way Down" and "The Fault in Our Stars." I chose to read "An Abundance of Katherines" because I feel it's one of his not as popular novels, and I wanted to contrast it to some of his other work. The book followed a guy named Colin who happens to always fall for girls named Katherine. He has been dumped by 19 Katherines and is trying to prove his theory of Katherine Predictability that is supposed to predict the outcome of all relationships. I thought the general story line was interesting, but I found Colin to be annoying and not very likable. It didn't surprise me how many times he is dumped, because he is very whiny throughout the story. The story itself was a little boring as well, I thought, for a John Green novel. Previous novels I've read from John Green always made me feel a wide range of emotions and usual make me cry. However, this story did not do that and I thought it was quite bland. There weren't very many plot twists or exciting things that would happen. I wouldn't recommend this particular book by John Green just because he has so many other amazing books that have much more depth than "An Abundance of Katherines" did.
