I’m glad you loved it. I read this one just before TT started (well, a reread that I listened too this time) and I enjoyed it immensely both times.

Thanks Danielle! Makes me really want to start From Sand and Ash. I will before Towers is over ( or I hope!)
@Kathleen,
I was a little worried when you said you wanted to throw your book across the room!

@Laura: It was emotion taking over because of all that's happening to our MCs. The goodbyes being said and all...
Kathleen wrote: "Boohjoni is a lovely character. Too bad we didn't get to see a whole lot of him after they 'moved'!"I really enjoyed the character too. I am enjoying the fantasy and emotion in the story as well.
I stopped at chapter 25 for the day. I agree, Laura, beautiful writing. Romantic and emotional. Anyone interested in Kjell’s story The Queen and the Cure? I will read it probably late June.
Chapter 14

Sigh, earlier in the week I wouldn't have hesitated to say yes to a BR of the 2nd book. I have committed to way too much BRs already *cry*

I loved this fantasy world. It will be interesting to see if book 2 is as magical, romantic and emotional!

Laura- I agree with the reviewer that it did read a bit like a fairytale. I was worried too when Kathleen wanted to throw the book. I thought the ending might leave us hanging, which I HATE!

Synopsis
Swallow, Daughter, pull them in, those words that sit upon your lips. Lock them deep inside your soul, hide them ‘til they’ve time to grow. Close your mouth upon the power, curse not, cure not, ‘til the hour. You won’t speak and you won’t tell, you won’t call on heav’n or hell. You will learn and you will thrive. Silence, Daughter. Stay alive.
The day my mother was killed, she told my father I wouldn’t speak again, and she told him if I died, he would die too. Then she predicted the king would trade his soul and lose his son to the sky.
My father has a claim to the throne, and he is waiting in the shadows for all of my mother’s words to come to pass. He wants desperately to be king, and I just want to be free.
But freedom will require escape, and I’m a prisoner of my mother’s curse and my father’s greed. I can’t speak or make a sound, and I can’t wield a sword or beguile a king. In a land purged of enchantment, love might be the only magic left, and who could ever love . . . a bird?
