However, the bones prove to be modern, so DCI Nelson has a new case to solve. Add to that the mysterious stabbing deaths of two homeless people, and the disappearance of a homeless woman, and Nelson's plate is full - especially when he has to deal with being short-staffed, and having a new boss he dislikes.

Lots of stuff going on in this book! I was fascinated by the underground mining tunnels which apparently exist in several places in Norwich. Also I did not know that homeless people are called "rough sleepers" in England, which I found interesting. My only beef was the motive of the perpetrator in the end was a bit over the top for me, causing a bit of eye-rolling and requiring some suspension of disbelief. But since it's the characters and their lives that really interest me about this series, I'm willing to overlook such flaws as long as they aren't egregious.
