History: Garrett's childhood is full of happy memories. Memories of his loving parents and how carefree him and his sister, Lili used to feel. Waking up and looking out at the ocean that their little home sat beside. All of that changed though when Garrett was twelve. On the night he witnessed his parents murdered. Him and Lili barely managing to escape that night. Their house set on fire. After escaping Garrett and Lili walking through the night towards the inn that was a good twenty minutes from where their home used to be. Knowing the inn keeper there would know the best way to get in touch with their uncle. Uncle Silas paid the family visits from time to time. Garrett's father explained that uncle Silas never stayed at one place long. When Garrett's uncle did finally arrive he didn't seem to surprised by the situation. Taking his nephew and niece in, if a bit reluctantly. It was then that they learned the truth about their uncle and his thieving ways. Worse they learned what happened to them was likely because their own father had been a thief as well. What the men who came to their home were after they couldn't be sure but it didn't change the fact that their lives were now changed forever.
Once their uncle became their caretaker they moved around quite a lot those first years. In part to keep the children safe and hidden away from those who might of wanted to do them harm. Only once enough time had passed did Silas take them back to their old home town. Letting them stay at the inn he frequented most when he stayed there. Sometimes he'd meet with old friends. These soon became Garrett's and Lili's friends as well as they worked to learn who they could trust. Meanwhile they were learning the tricks of the trade from their uncle. Both becoming rather skilled thieves in their own right. Garrett at the age of fifteen taking on his first job to steal something. Getting paid handsomely when he completed his job successfully. Making lots of money at something you're good at, no matter how wrong it might be is an addictive thing. Garrett only getting better at his craft. Enough to afford him and Lili a house of their own once more in the old town they had grown up in. Garrett doing regular jobs on the side so no one would become any the wiser about where all the money might be coming from. As far as the towns people knew he was one of the nicest and most helpful men around.
