I tried to read it a couple of years ago but just couldn't get into it even tho I liked the 1st book, so might try it again.

Where were all the voters?

Yep, great question.

Joseph | 1651 comments Bluntly, I'm guessing it's a lot easier for people to vote in a poll than to actually follow through and read the book? To say nothing of actually interacting/discussing? So unless a few of the "regulars" get the book into their queue, the discussion is likely to be a bit … anemic.

(Full disclosure: I did not read Wise Man's Fear; I also voted for something else, so I don't feel too guilty about it. I liked Name of the Wind well enough when I read it, and do plan to read WMF and any other books eventually, but it just wasn't something I was in the mood for at the time, and it's such a commitment.)

When I get on a computer I’m going to see who actually voted!

message 8: by Jim (new) - rated it 3 stars

Jim (jimmaclachlan) I wonder how many voted for it on name recognition & then found out it's the 2d book in a trilogy which hasn't been finished. I liked it better than the first book. The characters were better - the ring social standard was very well done as was the growth of the stories about Kvothe.

Jason | 131 comments I'll confess that I voted for it knowing it probably wouldn't fit into my reading schedule. I have read it before though and I loved it. I voted for it mainly because I was looking foward to reading and joining in with the discussion. If others did the same then it's kinda backfired!
Not something i'll do again
