William Gaddis published his second novel, J R, in 1975, a full two decades after his debut novel, The Recognitions. JR was awarded the National Book Award for Fiction in 1976.

Le Loup de Wall Street made it to the theater in my little town and I saw it last night. I think JR would have been about the same age as Jordan Belfort when he joined Wall Street. Couldn't help but make the psychic connection between the Gaddis book and the Scorsese movie since they both cover the same phantasm of money and its destructive power...
