SIA Showcase for Readers and Writers discussion

Hi everyone,

I'm starting a YouTube channel September 2018 looking to promote indie authors. There is no charge (obviously) and all you would need is Skype so we can have a chat about your work. I have Skype and have done interviews on it before. I live in Mexico so the only thing we'd have to do is co-ordinate times.

I've got Skype on the laptop I use at work, but it's Skype for business (no surprises there).

That sounds interesting. Would it be an interview or just talking into the camera? I've tried talking into the camera, but I get very nervous when I know there's nobody on the other end. For me, it's different when I can see and talk direct to a person on the screen.

We'd be talking over Skype.

I have skype but I would need some pointers because I've never used it. I cover the camera with the tape like I saw Mark Z of FB do on his laptop.

I have sent you a private message, however you would need to remove the tape from your webcam for our chat. If your not comfortable with that no worries but I'd have to take a pass.

That sounds great. How long will this program be going on? I am going for my fourth back surgery on Thursday the 2nd of August. If this is an ongoing project, then I might be able to apply once I am a bit better.

Hopefully long-term so long as I have authors willing and wanting to take part. Hope your operation and recovery goes well.

Thanks mate. This email was setup specifically for the YouTube channel and is my only way to communicate with people, so if I get some spam or whatnot I'll have to take it on the chin.

I'm five months late to the party but I hope your still doing this. I'd definitely be interested.
