    Echo Dyer

Echo had been reading a book on her bed that nigh when she heard a knock. She was so enthralled by the story she was very alarmed by the noise. She got up and put her book on the table and walked to the door cautiously. No or usually came to her room so she was erg curious to who it was. She turned the door nob and swung t open

When Echo opened the door she was shocked, it was a maid. But she had never seen her before and wondered what she was here for. When the girl got all flustered she smiled to herself. "No, no it's fine. It is a good evening," she responded back quirkily. Echo had never been one to care about social statuses and she put her hand out in greeting,"I'm Echo Dyer. You are?"

"And I've never been in the Selection, so I guess we are on the same page," she said laughing a bit. "I don't really need anything right now. I will always need help with my dresses!"((Should we just say that this greeting/introduction happened in the past. With the rebelling going on???))
"Of course," she said. Echo stepped back a but and widened to let Maggie in. She liked Maggie, she seemed like she would be a great friend. Echo could really use one, she had a hard time talking to all the other girls in the selection.

Echo thought for a long moment. Could she trust this girl with everything? She would like too. "Could you keep a secret... for me?" Echo was a little skeptical, and she didn't want rumors going around.

"Well it's a long story. I only submitted my name in because my mother never got the chance to be a selected and she always dreamed of if....and I got chosen. So here I am," she sat on her bed slightly embarrassed and defeated by the whole reason she was here. Echo looked down, her eyes darkening. "She is sick. I didn't want to but she's sick and it's what she wanted." She thought longer remembering the actual question, "I do think the prince is quite charming in his own way. Though he would be more suited to someone else I think, I believe that I would as well." She blush slightly at her last statement, her smile imperceptible.

She kind of looked up from her bed at Maggie like a frightened puppy. Her face now a brighter red. "Maybe.......nothing's happened! It-it's not like that!" Now flustered she stood up and walked towards the desk pacing around. "Well maybe not for him..."

She put her head in her hands and shook off the embarrassment. "I'm sorry I'm so confusing and embarrassed. I think... I may have a crush on William...." She awaited Maggie's answer. This was a life or death situation for a selected. But she thought, I found someone perfect but, just at the wrong time. "Don't tell anyone. I don't want him to get in trouble." She smiled as she picked up a comb for her hair. When she looked in the mirror she thought. "I'm odd aren't I..? Why would such a regal man.. or prince like a short haired tomboy like me. I can barely hold a conversation with out straying randomly to a new topic." Communication ad never been her strong suite, and she knew it.

Echo chuckled a bit at Maggie's excitement, now thoroughly embarrassed. "I appreciate that, really I do, but I think I'll be fine. I'll be eliminated soon never to be back at the palace again. I don't think William thinks that way at all of me anyways." She thought back at a few of their meetings and chats. Now downcast she continued, "He is so handsome and kind to me. I only met him a few days ago, but I remember it clear as if it had just happened."

She gave a small smile, "thanks." With out even thinking she gave Maggie a hug. She smiled then much more deviously, "want to help me pick out the dress for the next time I see him??"

Echo had never been a fan for fancy things or dresses but when she met up with William she couldn't help but want to look beautiful.

"Of course!" Giddy now she remembered something. "He still hasn't answered my question. I told him my biggest secret, which is the most interesting thing about me. That secret is that I'm an engineer, it's just not a feminine quality that I usually keep to myself, it's no big deal, I trust you anyways. But! He was supposed to tell me hiss secret but we got interrupted. He never finished his story."

(( You people are incredibly scary, what with the stalking. And I thought I was creepy for stalking my friends. XD ))

(( Of course I stalk. Whenever I'm not rushing to reply to all of my groups I very much like to see what my friends here fangirl so much about. XP ))

"Elegant? Or innocent maybe? I don't want to appear to seductive," she swayed her hips playfully. Echo giggled at the thought of trying to look sexy, it was something she never really bothered to do.

"Yes, that sounds about right. From what I know of William is that he is very fashionable, or at least very crisp and clean all the time," she wanted to appeal to William's spotless side.

Echo knew what colors she wanted, she wore them all the time, but she thought that she should try wearing something new. "Well..I always where grey and tan (silver and gold if you will) colored dresses. I just have always preferred those neutral colors, they don't clash with my auburn hair.....But...I think I want to try something new, but I'm am definitely not fashionable and wouldn't be able to pick the right color."

"That sounds good, it would be daring for sure." It was now starting to get very dark outside. Echo looked out the window at where the sun had set and admired the last colors fading into darkness. "I will wear this stunning dress next I meet him, thank you Maggie. For listening to me." Echo was now suddenly acting very somber, maybe she was tired, or maybe she was lost in a day dream

"That would be wonderful," she said politely. She may have looked exhausted but it was merely just mistaken with her thoughtfulness. Though her sleep was rare and little. Her sleeplessness was always made up in the day time with little naps. Echo for now would pretend she slept all through the night, it wasn't a big deal she thought. Walking over to the door Echo let Maggie out, "Thank you again Maggie. You're a great friend. Sleep well!"

Echo closed the door as she waved another farewell. She walked back to her bed wide awake despite the time of night and drew on her note pads. When she finally tired she slept until early the next morning.

When Echo went back to her room with the violin in hand she decided that sometime when she wanted to talk with William she would give his violin back. It was a good excuse to see him and couldn't wait until he came back from his search for Louise. She had waited for hours pacing her room waiting for word that the two royals were home safe in the palace.

Ech spun around at this and bolted out the door. "Thank you," she had called down the hallway as she ran. She was hoping that if they were in the hospital wing they were just being checked and hopefully not treated.

Echo had finally gotten back to her room from her visit to William around 7 am. She was utterly exhausted from everything that has happened earlier so she walked to her bed and fell onto the covers and laid there. Her sleep deprivation was catching up to her from the past few days seeing that she hadn't been able to take any make-up naps. She burst into a laughing fit full of tears, Echo was both happy and sad, as well as other things, but she didn't know how to hold either in any longer. Alone in her room she curled up on her bed and laughing and crying herself to sleep, only to wake up from a horrid nightmare. She had been running through the palace out into the garden. Echo had known she was running from something and was terrified but her sleeping self didn't know what. Looking down at her hands she saw them dripping with blood, who's she knew not. She ran and ran for her life, and there was noise, a terrible noise. A montage of sound so loud, full of screams and guns and banging. Their were voices, people (Mom, dad, brothers, Louise, Maggie, William) speaking in her sleep that she recognized saying things of hate and love, they whispered to her, "How could you, we thought you were better. Why did you leave me?" She realized who's blood she held. The noise grew louder and louder waking her up, but it was her own screaming.
((If you have not realized, Echo has Insomnia and terrible nightmares. Sleep is her worst enemy. Tis sad))

((Hey hey, Emery is free if you still wanna RP xD))

((Idk... They never actually talk before, it'll be weird if she comes to Echo's room thou. She's in the garden if Echo wanna meet her.))

((yep. i'll post first then. 8]))

Her nightmares were constant and persistent. Occasionally Maggie would walk in on one of her naps, fast asleep and crying. The entire week consisted of sleepless nights and waking dreams. The only upside is she got a lot of work done in her room if she was not out wondering the palace by herself.

Echo woke up with a gasp around 5 am to Maggie's voice. She was hot and dripping sweat and tears. Looking up at Maggie she barely voiced, "I'm sorry..." Her nightgown was sticking to her skin and was making her curl, "I should... go.. clean up, I'm sorry." She kept avoiding Maggie's gaze as she stumbled towards the bath, she had told her the earliest she saw her about the encounter with Louise and William and she felt horrible. But not only that she had kept the poor maid up and busy with her constant nightmares and bazar sleeping patterns. Her Insomnia had always been something she struggled with and subsided occasionally just to be reawakened with stress.

((Okie))Echo took a deep breath, "As you know Louise knows and a furious.....I keep having nightmares where it's my fault William is executed yet I escape my death. Or I'm running from everyone...I'm being shot for treason. I am a ghost cursed to watch William rot in the gutters...they get..worse.." She was referring to the dreams. Her mind was driving her crazy with anxiety about being caught again and the whole royal family finding out. The consequences she imagined were a stretch but she was dreaming, everything was either better or worse then reality. She couldn't speak any longer of her nightmares, they left her shaken up and constantly glancing over her should in worry.
"Medicine would be nice, just don't tell anyone about this. And something fun would be nice," like William said Echo took some time away from everyone only taking lonely quiet walks.

"Once I went mud...sled..ing," Echo had not long go done that very thing with Louise. But that didn't matter now. "Do you have any ideas for fun things? Ooh what about the dress we talked about. I want to see it, then we can go somewhere and do something crazy and probably inappropriate for a maid and selected." She laughed lightly and smiled cheering up a little.

Echo has always been a tough girl who knows what she wants. She is very introverted, intuitive, and likes working with her hands. When she’s not busy making something she is planning and letting her imagination run wild. She enjoys the thrill and the rewards she gets from working hard. Her creativity helps her think of new things to make or draw. Though her determination can also make her stubborn. Another weakness of hers would be one-on-one communication, crowds have always made her curl up into her defenses. When to overwhelmed by people she escapes by wandering around exploring new things. Other than her love for engineering and building she loves to curl up in a good book or sketch out designs and patterns. Other than dealing with people, if something were to go wrong she would stay calm and think of a solution, emergencies don’t frighten her.

Maggie finds herself to be a great advice giver, and great at following the rules. As she always says, "It's better to be a rule follower than to be a rule breaker!"
