I am about half-way through and I am really liking it. The writing is really good. I still need to sit down and finish it.
I tried (loan expired). However, I will admit, I thought this video was kinda funny about To Kill A Mockingbird (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mreGr...)
Yay! I finished it! It's only... halfway through August...
This book is a lot longer than I remember it being. Maybe it's a lack of reading time on my part, but it took forever to get through. It was pretty alright, though. Not my favorite book, but it was an interesting read. I agree that the writing was very well done.
I thought the timing of the reading of this book was excellent, though, considering all that's been going on in Ferguson. There were some parallels that were especially eerie, like Tom being shot repeatedly (excessively) while running away, groups of people standing up peacefully while facing the threat of violence, etc. Although a lot of things have changed, some of the attitudes and behaviors towards others (especially those of other races) today remain the same. Admittedly, these things not quite as extreme as they once were, but I would have hoped for more from us as a people. Let's hope that progress continues to march onward!
PS- That's a pretty funny video, Troy.
